He wasn't arrested for using $2 bills. He was arrested "after using $2 bills" on suspicion of counterfeiting. See the headline. Also see this paragraph:

According to the Sun report, the police arrest report noted one employee noticed some smearing of ink on the bills. That's when the cops were called. One officer reportedly noticed the bills ran in sequential order.

Also note that he was released after the Secret Service declared the bills genuine.

I unfortunately work for wal-mart in the cash office counting the money daily and processing the checks, cash really isn't the problem it the mass amount of fake checks we get on a daily basis.

I handled cash as part of my job for thirteen years. The only counterfeits I saw were $100 bills. The government says that the most frequently counterfeited bills are $20s. I think the likelihood of encountering a phony $1 or $2 is very slim indeed.

From the reactions I've gotten in check-out lines, they still are cool to have. One cashier told me he collected every $2 bill he got.

I believe one of the reasons cashiers dislike them is that they have a hard time counting by twos on the odd numbers when it comes time to counting their cash drop.

Another reason would be, there is no place to put them in the cash register, except underneath, then you might forget about it.:D:)::nsmile::

When I was cashiering, I put the twos on top of the fifties and gave them out in change at the earliest opportunity.

See that makes sense, most cashiers at wal-mart don't use their brains.
