I hope Ray is well, and all his buddies are safe. Has anyone heard from him? Mrs. Ray, if you pop in, could you please give us any updates on your hubby? UTR, Thank you very much for thinking of my Soldiers and I. We are doing well, as well as we can be. I pop in here almost daily but have little time to write, I am extremely sorry for not posting as much as I used to, my plate is just so full my correspondence has suffered greatly and for that I am sorry. Please know that I do miss my time here on 24, and I do hope to be welcomed back when I return from this deployment or hopefully when I can find more time on this deployment. Please feel free to drop me an e-mail any time (That goes for anyone). Missing you all too, Ray

Hi again, Ray!!! I was recollecting the movie Saving Private Ryan, and how graphic it is, when I remembered a "discussion" a friend of mine and I had, and wondered if you could answer it. Among all the military and war movies, this one remains a conundrum (among some) about its validity and accuracy. While I don't need to be told that the violence is not dramatized, one thing my friend and I were debating about was something I can't find a source for online. Were/are snipers and sharpshooters in fact called "God" and if so, what is the reason? I don't want to say what my answer to that question was when I claimed that they are called "God". If you could tell me why that is so, (or if it is so) my friend will take what you say as the truth, since you are right in the middle of it, and would know better than I. Thanks Ray!!! Stay safe and come home soon. I am praying for you.

UTR, I believe when a sniper can reach out from over 1000 meters and hit an enemy square in the head with one shot, they tend to get a God complex. The fact that a sniper can chose who they take down, when they take them down probably also causes this same complex. I am not a sniper, I have known a few, some bosted their hits, others kept a tight lid on their missions. I developed more respect for the silent ones. The loud ones had this complex you speak of. Please understand this in my own opinion, not that of the Army or anyone else but mine. Ray

It was the guess of another friend of mine that they are called God because - as you say - they can pick and choose who gets to live and who gets to die; to a certain point. It's great to see you around and I'm glad you're still safe. Thanks for your answer!!
