class="ftlargecontent" As many of you know, I'm at Fort Gordon, GA. right now and I was informed today that by years end I will be in Iraq... the funny part is I was due to leave this current unit before the deployment, yesterday I was contacted by the new unit... they told me I will be deploying 1 1/2 weeks after I arrive... so I'm like shit, I have to go back for a third tour... then today my current unit (Fort Campbell, KY) called and told me I am getting stop lossed (Meaning I will not be able to move to the new unit) because we are deploying... so, no matter how I look at it... I'm going back to the sand box  Damn I can't cut a break! Here we go again, Ray

The good news is, I will soon be under 5 years remaining until I can retire... that means only 3 more deployments ...

Sorry to hear you have to go back over so soon Ray. I know many guys and gals that have done multiple tours and a few with three under their belt already. Keep you spirits up and we'll be praying for you.

From The Times March 09, 2007 Democrats face fight over deadline to end war ‘safely and soon’ Tom Baldwin, Washington Congressional Democrats yesterday proposed new conditions for funding the Iraq war which would begin bringing US troops home as early as July 1 and complete a withdrawal by September 1, 2008, at the latest. Nancy Pelosi, the House of Representatives Speaker, said the measure would mark the first time that the new Dem-ocratic-controlled Congress had established a “date certain” for the end of American participation in the four-year-old war that has claimed more than 3,100 US lives. She said that the proposal, which Democrats want attached to a $95 billion funding Bill for Iraq and Afghanistan, was designed to end the war “safely, reasonably and soon”. President Bush has repeatedly rejected talk of establishing a deadline for troop withdrawals. The threat from the Democrats sets the stage for a constitutional clash over war powers between rival arms of the US Government. But White House aides believe that divisions among Democrats over the best way to challenge Mr Bush could still mean the measure is defeated without the need for a presidential veto of the funding Bill. Ms Pelosi made her announcement even as Senate Democrats reviewed a different approach, setting a goal of a troop withdrawal by March next year. The House Democrats’ time-table reflects how the leadership has struggled to come up with a formula that will satisfy liberals, who want to end the war now, and moderates, who are worried about being seen to undermine US troops. According to an explanation distributed by Democratic aides, the timescale would vary according to the progress made by the Iraqi Government in meeting benchmarks for improving security. Ms Pelosi said she would not allow antiwar Democrats to have a separate Bill requiring all US forces to leave Iraq by December 31 this year.
