How can an organization who proposes to be God’s mouthpiece, support and celebrate a publication that totally refutes the reality of God creating humanity? The Catholic Church is wrong on so many topics of interest. Christians need to stand up against the lies of Catholicism and stop being so tolerant of foolishness.

At some point the reality of the science is going to have to be acknowledged anyway.

What's the poll question we're supposed to be answering "ABSOLUTELY" or "HECK NO" to?  :dunno:

As far as Catholicism goes, it's good to see them coming out in support of science.  (A few hundred years too late for Galileo, to be sure, but still...).

I have had serious philosophical conversations with some of my devout Catholic friends and they've tried to explain to me how it is that the Catholic church doctrine supports creationism by God by a revisionist theory of evolution. In other words, the Word of God is the word of God, but not to be interpreted literally. I do not go along with this ideology, however.

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. -Matthew 22:37-39

It's right above the poll choices:

Is Catholicism teaching the true Gospel of Christ?

The Catholic church is to be applauded for finally recognising the scientific fact that is evolution.

Hopefully other denominations will take the common sense approach of following suit.

Shouldn't many of them, even at the top, be in jail for knowingly covering up child molesters and relocating them, over and over again, for more unsuspecting kids and families to get destroyed? My point is they probably feel the need to do something to change their image. Acknowledging the world-wide scientific community is probably one of those things.

i have seen many believers of evolution who won't debate this man or others like him on the same stage

I can't speak specifically to this man's research, but I view a great deal of what's on his page with suspicion.  If you look at his "Evidence For Creation" page, the footnotes are a mixture of creationist journals and book publications.  Not a peer-reviewed, scientific journal in sight.  And there's a good reason for that:  Some of what he says is obvious nonsense.  Under "Population Statistics" he says:

World population growth rate in recent times is about 2% per year. Practicable application of growth rate throughout human history would be about half that number. Wars, disease, famine, etc. have wiped out approximately one third of the population on average every 82 years.

Not only does he not give attribution for his 2% figure (let alone the 1% figure that follows it), but he completely ignores things like the Black Death, which absolutely devastated certain populations (resulting in much greater than 1/3 mortality rate), and further ignores documented mass extinction events.  He further ignores the well-documented fact that infant mortality rates are much lower in most parts of the world now than they were even 200 years ago.

In the section labeled "6. Human Artifacts throughout the Geologic Column", he makes reference to a hammer in Cretaceous rock, but this is a well-known fraud.  The hammer in question is a modern hammer, not an artifact from early man.

In short, I think the reason no serious scientists debate the man is that they realize he's a joke -- and not a very good one, at that.

Rome will more and more merge and blend in with world's philosophies and with other faiths. To some this is good, but to those who study the scriptures we see the harlot doing what she does best.

New POPE Calls for NEW WORLD ORDER

Pope Benedict, in his first Christmas address, on Sunday urged humanity to unite against terrorism, poverty and environmental blight and called for a "new world order" to correct economic imbalances. http://au.news.yahoo.com/051225/2/p/xcry.html

"...we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the US, ...conspiring with others around the world to build ...-- one world, if you will. If that's the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it." David Rockefeller
