I never dreamed technology was going to be our downfall.........  It's taken any and all personal human communication and interaction, out of almost everything.

There's a million different reasons they can come up with for the chip to help and be the advancement of human technology.  Track our children!  Finding our pets!  Faster and better service in the emergency room and doctors office!   Credit cards track you're every move already.........Watch kids be given number chips in schools in order to scan their records........where does it all end?  The big computer mega data base run by the NWO?  The FBI?  Police?  Military?

The really sad thing is, a lot of this technology could actually help humans with safety. But there's always that knee jerk reaction about we humans giving up our last bit of freedom, and who we actually are.......... Once we go down that road, we'll never get it back!  I'm not ready to go down that road yet........

I really wish people would wake up to the idea that we are becoming property and not being more "free" by tech and those that own it.

I think people are completely misreading what this device is.  It's not an implantable GPS.  It tracks medical information, not movements.  This is no more a GPS than the RFID tag on the pack of batteries I just bought.

Now, you can argue that having your medical information stored by someone who can call it up instantly is scary, but that's a much harder case to make, conisdering that's the way most medical records work now.  Your medical information, if you're above the age of 24 hours, is stored electronically somewhere.  Welcome to the 20th century. :bigwink:

Brian it's giving a lot of very personal information at the fingertips of whoever can scan it.  Do you know just who can and can not scan it??  No, none of us do.  My problem with these chips implanted is, as time goes on more and more of every bit of information will be available at the swipe of a wand!!  I don't want to go through the airport and have certain people know I'm an independent voter, say.  Maybe I don't want someone to know ANYTHING about me unless I CHOOSE to tell them!  We aren't people anymore, but a bunch of cattle being herded and watched...........  You wait, the day is coming.

Specifically, I don't, but generally, I do.  Anyone with the scanner can scan the information, provided they have the software to interpret the data and know where the chip is implanted.  In process, it's no different than scanning a supermarket card.  And like that card, you need both the hardware and the software to interpret it.

I'm not saying the technology itself can't be used to put information on there you wouldn't want people to be able to read.  But this particular application is innocuous.  Your doctor puts the information on.  That information is the medical information they already have on you.  Now, if the government wanted to implant a chip on you, then I'd be worried, because there would be lots of information at their disposal to put on there, and you wouldn't necessarily know which information made it on to the chip.

But you get that problem with every electronic system.  Any system where they put a magnetic strip on a card, the person putting the information on can put whatever information they want, as long as they have access to it.  That's the kind of thing I would be wary about.  Not this particular application.  The chip we're discussing here is no more onerous to privacy than a MedicAlert bracelet (although it's obviously got a lot more medical information than that).

The only way this would get into a privacy issue is if insurance companies didn't have access to this information, and if you had to be scanned to apply for insurance.  But as far as  I know, you'd have to disclose this information, anyway.  I don't see this system containing any information the companies couldn't get some other way (e.g., a blood test).

My mobile phone can tell me what postcode I'm standing in if I type in *1#.

Maybe the "beast 666" (which is supposed a massive supercomputer system tracking everyones movements ! ::sgrin::) is tracking me via my phone !
