Moguitar, that's why I think it seemed reasonable to the authors and believers of that fable that two of each animal could fit in there - they had no idea of the incredible amount of species because they only know the animals they saw in that area. They didn't even know about most species or the continents they were on!

It is interesting to study the rises and falls and plateaus of the various types of human knowledge.  The amazing thing is the power of religious leaders and dogma to destroy truth and knowledge, even to this day.  This has also happened with cultural and political power and dogmas, with events of killing the most learned and intellegent, book burnings, etc.  For a variety of reasons, what has happened for a long time, and increasing more and more, is the negative evolution of humanity.::wiseman:::yell:::peace::::whello:::bang7::bang7::bang7::bang7:::dancea:::bang7::bang7::bang7:::eyemad::

"The Bible started from spoken tales and fables, with some historical stories as they appeared to ancient people without much knowledge of how God made things work. Stories and fables to fulfill fantasy prophesies, and history written long after the fact with much inaccuracy in places. Many of the stories and fables were never meant to be taken as anything more than a learning exercise, NOT literal truth. Much was written by fallible humans and was made up for their own purposes, or delusions."

Really moguitar? Huh, how do you come to those conclusions?

I agree with Moguitar on that. In fact, I believe it is obvious that he is correct.

Good point - yet another reason the "all living species on Earth were on the Ark, and all living species today are traced back to it as their origin" is silly.
