Did you know that in old Dutch and to this day in Afrikaans, Lucifer simply means fire?

So, their faith is of fire....inspired by the fires of faith?

Just sticking my oar in here as I love the origins of words and how they become warped to a different meaning.

Well thanks and then look at what you just claimed and then look at where they are...the Dutch are by far the most sunk deep into the lies for the world...in fact they are test ground for the NEW WORLD ORDER...the kingdom of Lucifer.

Now I grew up in the USA system for the next of such.

You are free to believe whatever you wish, dear Robodoon.  Obviously, I disagree with your point of view.  It is pointless to state the many reasons why as it has been done countless times before by myself and other Bahá'ís here.  Accepting Bahá'u'lláh was the best choice of my life and I thank God for this bounty every day.  I do not expect you to support my decision.  You believe what you believe, and I believe what I believe.  There is only one God, in any case, and He loves us all.  I prefer to embrace the oneness of all people than divide them and place them in boxes.  You think I am delusional or misled, and I believe you are a nice fellow adhering to some kooky ideas.  I don't think there is anything else to say, really.  Surely, you will post falsehoods about my Faith and I, along with other Bahá'ís, will attempt to address them lovingly.  That is really all we can do.  I love all the Messengers of God, including Bahá'u'lláh and Christ, and I believe we are all one human family.  Your arguments to the contrary have no affect upon me.  I wish you happiness, and I pray that your heart will soften.  The rest is up to God.

I am pretty well sick of all things Baha'i, call it Baha'i fatigue if you will.  They will say something and someone else will come along with a dozen logical reasons they are wrong.  They will say something along the lines of "you can't question the way God works," "you don't understand the scriptures of you faith," "you have to empty your cup" or "recorded history is wrong" and then make the same statment three posts later!

While most of the Baha'is here seem to be nice people and I like them, talking to them about religion or talking about their religion is a chore that I am completely burned-out on!

The Baha'i Faith, having no clergy, has the great virtue of being ENTIRELY VOLUNTARY!!  No one is Baha'i (or need become Baha'i) who doesn't choose to, and no one else has the right to tell you that you should.

You are, as Britt stated, entirely welcome to your opinion.

But not only do millions disagree with you, but I humbly suggest that if you want to begin a new thread, starting it with a put-down is hardly the way to do so!

(The more so given that the way it's worded is based on shaky Christian "doctrine" not actually supported by the Bible, anyway--more of a man-made extrapolation than anything else.)

YMMV, but that's my view.

I was stating my opinion, not complaining.  Never did I state that I felt like I was being "forced" to discuss Baha'ism.  All I said was that I was burned-out.

I am glad that the Baha'is are here and I fully support your right to discuss your religion.

However, I choose not to enter into those debates because I feel that it is not possible to reach any common ground or move beyond the "we are right and you are wrong" mentality that many Baha'is seem to have.

I believe that my wife would agree with you that I complain too much:D

hmmm...so this is your idea of starting over? ::questioner::

I would suggest that perhaps starting over entails a somewhat different approach, perhaps if you would agree to educate yourself on what Baha'u'llah actually teaches rather than relying on what others say He says, that might be a good beginning.

I watched the first 40 minutes of the video you asked us to watch, and then it stopped downloading, i'll try to catch the rest of it today if it will let me.
