Thank you for sharing that. It recently found out that certain tones and pitches correspond to the different Chakras or energy centres of the body. So just as they each have a colour they have a note too. Do you feel any physical sensations when you get this sensitivity Marie?

No I do not.  The only sensation is that it seems very real to me, and LOUD.  I am always surprised that my husband does not "hear" them when I do.

Interesting Marie. Do you get messages or whole sentences through or just words?

Hamster..never words, just sounds.  Bells, knocks, that kind of stuff.  Creeps me out a bit.  I would like to work on developing that somehow, to see if I can get more stuff.

I get dream visits with my mom now and again.

Ok do they come at any particular time, place or with any one person that you can think of?

Umm..lets see.  Usually during the night or early morning.  They wake me up from a sleep usually.  So I am not sure if they are just a residual part of a dream or what.

No particular person, that I can think of.  I will have to start writing things down.

Though I do remember one instance in particular.  I used to work in a day program for people with disabilities.  We had one young man who had physical and cognitive disabilities.  He could not speak, but could vocalize..would usually hit you on the arm or shoulder to get your attention.  One night I was awakend in the middle of the night with the sensation that this young man was frantically hitting me on the shoulder and vocalizing to get my attention.  I was very worried that something was wrong.  Turns out he was sick during the night, and had been "calling out" for his parents for attention.  It was strange.

We can often get messages through dreams when the conscious mind is quietened. I think (again only opinion) that these "noises" correspond with the different energy vibrations in your body signalling your intuition that someone or something needs your attention.

Can I ask if you had a particularly close link to this young man-were you very good friends? I have had this happen before with people I spend a lot of time with.

Yes, Hammy..I did often work directly with this young man, and could usually communicate well with him, despite his lack of speech.

I think it is possible to develop this kind of "bond" with anyone you spend time with-do you think he instinctively reached out to you as he knew you could help him?

That is possible.  I mean, I have not worked directly with him in several years.  But, I do occasionally see him when I take Kim in for her therapy.  He always greets me with a big grin and hug.  Remember..he is on the lower end of the cognitive functioning scale.  I am just surprised he remembers me after all these years.

The less the conscious brain is working the more direct a link we build to the subconsious. This is link link to all these abilities. So he is probably more in tune with them than most people.

foxglovepress wrote: Why were they trying to contact you?  Did you know the person before they died?  Were you just standing around in a "normal" place, or were you actually ghost hunting?  Thanks Hambone............

I cant give you a firm answer other than there are various reasons they may try to get my attention or someone elses.

1. they may not know they're dead.

2. they may just want human contact again....they remember what it was like in life so in death they could have a longing for that contact

3. They may want to tell you something to pass on to someone else.

4. They may be angry/mean/vindictive spirits trying to hurt you or push you or something

5. they may be trying to warn you about something

6. In the case of a family member (i dont ghost hunt my own departed family members) they may be trying to tell you not to worry or that they're with you or they're happier where they are or any number of things.

7. they may want to tell you how/why/where they were killed (if they were of)

This list could go on and on...I believe ghosts have their reasons for wanting to make contact, and then I think there are others around that dont want to make contact and are just lurking in the background, so to speak.

I thought Markovii was talking about the spine chilling effect overall vs what you're describing and I didnt take the time to explain it well enough.

It is true that "a cold spot" on your body can be the ghost touching you. they lack physical form and are pulling energy from the atmosphere itself in many cases which results in a temperature drop (cold spot). If the ghost "touches" your hand or face, then you can feel this as a cold spot on your body but not feel the fingertips as I described.

That makes sense to me. Yes, the "cold spot on your body" is what I was asking about. Sorry I didn't phrase my question correctly.

Can I ask if you have experienced this?

Hamster, no not that I can remember anyway.

I'd like to see discussions of shadow people.

I know they are fairly common, I've seen them a couple of times (watched them summoned up actually) , I don't believe they are spirits of the dead, I think they are thoughtforms generated by ourselves.
