Yeah the idea is we learn new skills/traits each time and these are "remembered" each time so we gradually increase in our spiritual growth faster.

That's assuming of course that we learn the lessons and not keep repeating the same mistakes!

What if you just plain Don't want to keep going through it all...........over and over and over.  Geez, just the thought of it sucks!  I'm sorry but I can't imagine anything worse.  Yes, I do get enjoyment out of life, but without there being an easy way to know HOW to change everything, it would just plain suck!  It actually would create another stress just thinking you had to go through it all again.  :bang9:

I guess it comes down to being able to see everything that happens to us as something we can learn from on sme level? If we can learn these lessons then its my opinion we move on to BETTER things each time.

Personally I am learning patience this time-not as easy lesson...

I don't.  I guess I should probably say it more like this.  I've heard a lot about it.  I had an aunt who was VERY into it.  She told me I was old and wise  in my lives.......whatever that means.  If it means I've learn everything, that's hard to believe.  I don't want it to be true AT ALL!  If I had a choice.....................I would choose HEAVEN!

I've read a little about the Akashic Records in Sylvia Browne's books. It would be interesting to access them. But I'd be a little nervous about it because I'm not sure I'd really want to know everything about my past lives.

Hi Stephany!

I read recently that it is best to go with one question in mind and ask that at first. It seems you can access it all but as you say it can be overwhelming at first so it is a good idea to go with one objective.

Can I ask which book it was please?

I guess if you don't want to know then it's better not to go?

Sylvia Browne has a few pages on the Akashic Records in her book Phenomenom, and she also briefly mentions them a few times in Spiritual Connections, I think.

I definately don't want to know everything about my past lives, but I do have a few questions that I'd like to find out about.

I think it would be interesting to know more about where I have come from on this journey and what I still need to learn to get to the "end" if you will. Have I done bad things in a previous life? I am sure I have. After all the capability for good and evil exists in all of us. There will always be good and evil. Without both there could be no balance in nature. I want to know what lessons I still need to learn. What I can do to be a better human being in the future. I expect the lessons to be hard ones, I am not afraid of that. The lessons we remember best, have the most respect for, are the victories that were the hardest to achieve. To see the records of my life would, at the very least, be a very humbling experience. Could I see the sum total of my life and be able to change it's direction? I would like to think I could. Change can be hard for some people to face. Facing adversity can be so daunting but change is a part of life. It is up to us how we choose to respond to it.

I choose to see the challenges ahead as positive things. Excited to be growing as a spirit. Whether the lessons are good or bad, easy or hard, I am happy to move forward and face the future with a smile.

That is a brilliant post and pretty much sums up my thoughts on this issue. We can use this to change and learn from these records that change is inevitable so we might as well respond positively.

I also want to move forward with a smile and use my records to help me be a better person no matter what I see.
