On the subject of past lives and reincarnation: http://www.24hourforums.com/view_topic.php?id=9244&forum_id=110 and http://www.24hourforums.com/view_topic.php?id=10264&forum_id=23 I have been researching and plan to access my Akashic records. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akashic_Records Basically they are a record of your soul's journey past, present and future (of course future can be changed if you make changes in the now). I was particularly interested in Helefra's idea that some of our issues (like addiction) can be past life "baggage" and I wondered if this could be seen in the records. So has anyone else heard of them?

Yes, but only what you and I have talked about them obviously. It's EVERYONES soul....past, present and future, right? do you think accessing the records could WRONGLY influence ones decisions in the future? Or, if they accessed their record...they were SUPPOSED to? what does this do to free will?

The theory is that if you can reach them you will be able to be responsible for what you see. Plus once to start the next life you'll have no conscious memory of it anyway-you'll have to re-learn it all but hopefully faster this time.

yeah, I know you have to "start over" when reborn and learn all over again...kind of a drag huh? it would be most interesting to access these records....a hellofa lot of responsibility though. you may discover stuff you didnt necessarily want to know too I suppose.

True but I believe in free will and that all possible futures can be changed. Do you agree? And if I did find out something like that I'd want to know anyway as soon as possible. It wouldn't really matter anyway as I'd have the next life to go at.

I believe in Joseph Campbell's statement "Follow Your Bliss and the universe will open doors for you where there were only walls" .... So any unpleasant is not on my path anyway (unless it was a major life lesson) and in which case I'd like to know and get it done sooner.

makes sense...but i like the idea of learning what went wrong in the past and then trying to fix it now...if possible. in this concept, there would be a predetermined time something is supposed to happen, right? so anything not done in the past would already be predetermined? or thats where the path splits...there are choices to make and depending on which choice you do make, the path you take is determined at that point.

Yes there is an "ideal" path that our soul set out on each time. But according to quantum physics and as we have free will I think it is entirely possible to go so far off track you can't achieve that path this time. To access the records would help you see just how far off track you'd got right?

not if the path has infinite possibilities unless there was A PURPOSE to ones life, or lives. but then we could get in to the guides ability to help us with our paths....seems the two (guide and records) go hand in hand

Yeah you need a guide to access the records (or it helps) and the guide can help you sort out any issues and get back on track. Ha ha we are going off at a tangent now!

arent we always?  But now that I think about it...perhaps the guide isnt as necessary as we think. Yes, he/she will help you grow as you have...but they dont TELL you anything, they only suggest and...well, guide you to the answer. they may help you to a certain point in search of the records, but once you're close, I think you're on your own to actually find what it is you're looking for. i dont know....wish there was a book with step by step instructions...but this tryin to figure it out thing is fun too

Yeah half the fun is in figuring this out-if you call it fun! Maybe a guide can help you after you found them with what to do to get back on track? One thing is for sure in my mind-if we CAN access them then we SHOULD right?
