This one really makes me wonder what the artist could have possibly been trying to portray.

Both those pictures are ideal, the bottom one taken from the Temple at Abydos, a 6000 year old temple really has raised questions for me for a long time now, cheif among them the same question you ask here would a artist living 6000 years ago get the inspiration for images resembling airplanes helicopters and submarines or hovercraft? another question is what would be the purpose of such pictoglyphs in a temple to begin with? I also wonder has anyone diciphered these pictoglyphs yet?

I just saved photograph of the bigger section of the ceiling to my hard drive to get a closer look and in the lower half appear to be weird looking men
