Who thinks disclosure is around the corner?

I think we are closer than we ever have been to FULL disclosure.

I think one of the main worries are the religious implications, if full disclosure is made with physical evidence what will Christians, muslims etc make of it when the evidence and the truth of extraterriestrial/inter dimensional life is staring them in the face ?

cynicalninja I think you make an excellent point being a pentecostal preachers son I know all to well exactly how the majority in the mainstream church would react.

I can tell you even if ufo's were proved beyonda shadow of a doubt to be not of this earth, the mainstream chrch will be convinced they are of the devil and it is a sign of th end of time.

I myself believe life on other planets would be much like us partly good partly bad.

Well, I don't understand why that would be so Earth-shattering, or religion breaking of an announcement.

God made us, why wouldn't we think he could make many more sentient species?

Personally, nothing like learning that you are not the only kid on the block will make you stand up and take stock of your situation.

It could very possibly be the critical factor needed to unite mankind. Especially in a "common enemy" scenario.

I myself believe life on other planets would be much like us partly good partly bad.

That's an interesting assumption that deserves a thread of its own.

Alien life could be so far removed from us as to be completely beyond imagination.

What if silicon based life lived so slowly that a single word took centuries to say?

Could you converse with a gas-eater that floated in the atmosphere of Jupiter without ever knowing about or imagining land?

What about a water species? Or an ammonia breather?

Then there's the old question: If a species is so advanced that it has interstellar capability, what kind of common ground would we have at all?

Can you make an Amazonian head-hunter understand what the stock market is? Or what a silicon chip does?

Maybe its even worse. I hold up a cup of water and say "bujumva"

Did I just say "cup" or "water" or "nourishing liquid" or "cheers?"

Hi Saint i see were your coming from about why would it be so difficult for some folks to accept the possibility, I for one think your logic on that is impeccable, all things being equal it would seem only logical that a God that spread out such a vast universe full of billions of trillions of planets would likely habitat more than just one of them. To do otherwise would seem tantamount to buying a lot and filling it with cars and letting the cars rust into the ground, however that being said at the same time of all the Christan's I have met in my life in person and online only a handful have been able to accept the possibility that god may have put life elsewhere and it may possibly be in the same spiritual condition is us. and as weird as this sounds the reason for this reluctance to accept the possibility is that said life is not mentioned in the bible. I find your ability to be open to be  very refreshing .

But if god made us in his image who created the extraterrestrial life that isn't in his image ?

Or does god not have an image ?

Or is gods image infinitely variable ?

Thought occurs to my if man can of his ownfree chooseing create one mannequin in his on image and another mannequin in someone elses imagian, then god can do the same if he so chooses. however at the the sametime it brings to my mind do we really understand what was meant by in his image?
