Yep, I suspected this for a long time.  Every since I found out that spores can endure a vacuum.

Scientists have found Carbon-13 based DNA strands inside a meteorite.  What's weird about that?  Life on Earth is based on Carbon 12.

We May All Be  Aliens

Some people may take this to mean that there is no God (Frank) but I see it as further proof of God's plan.  The entire universe may be filled with the floating seeds of life just waiting for a nice, comfy life-belt planet to land on.

Hi, Saint.

I posted something like this a few days ago on my forum.  For my part, I think it's most likely that some early form of life got started here, and then incorporated the elements in meteorites like this.  I think the process got started domestically, and then had additional material arrive from "on high", as it were.The idea of something as complex as DNA originating somewhere else, but being suitable for Earth, is a longshot, in my view.  It's more likely, I think, that individual components (e.g., uracil and xanthine)  made it to Earth and then were incorporated in different ways.

I'm not sure where that fits into your poll, though.  :dunno:

LOL! Absolutely not! I read a story once where people from the future went back in time and planted evidence for human evolution, let off brain-wiped colonists, and covered their tracks to disguise the fact that mankind wasn't even from this planet.

Maybe life's origins on this planet  are a gigantic hoax!
