I was stationed in Japan and was approached by a coworker who said his house was haunted. I touched on this somewhere before here....they would get up in the morning and find Lladro figurines on the coffee table in the living room instead of on the shelf where they belong.

he said that out of the corner of their eyes (he and his wife) they would see what looked like an man wearing a WWII style (American) flyer uniform, hat and all.

I'll regress a little and say that i spent 11 years at Misawa Air Base in northern Japan and I did some research on it. The base was used, in part, as a kamikaze training base for Japanese pilots and they even launched some missions out of there during WW2 against the US Navy ships in the area. We carpted bombed the base in the last days of the war and pretty much destroyed it and killed lots of Japanese Airmen.

Ok, so that said, i went to his house one night with 3 other guys, so there were 5 of us. We went in to the bedroom with the ouija board, turned off the lights, lit candles and got started.

During the use of the board, we made contact with who we believe was the ghost that they were seeing in their home. We never got his name unfortunately. We tried but got nothing. I'll leave out all the mundane details and tell you what we got out of it.

He was part of a bomber crew whose plane got hit by AAA (anti-aircraft artilery) and they thought they were going down. the pilot told the crew to bail out, and he did along with at least 1 other guy. His spirit remains there because he says he's looking for the other aircrew member who bailed out with him but cant find him and he said he cant go home until he does find him.

We told him he could go home, that the war is over and he is free to leave but he kept saying NO. finally, we lost contact with him and believe someone else who was very evil took over so we quit using the ouija board.

His house remained haunted, they kept seeing "him" out of the corner of their eyes at night and the Lladro figurines kept moving time to time. He refused to leave. the house is no longer there...family housing improvements. they tore down houses to make way for newer, better ones. Last I was there, where his house was was an open field and I dont know if they plan to build there or not. I hope to return there someday and maybe take some time and see if he is still in that spot looking for his friend.

That's an interesting account. Perhaps when you told him he could go home, he became frustrated and maybe irritable. That may have been what you sensed as evil. I think that he must have ignored and shut out the 'light' that would have led him 'home' in favour of finding his mate and now he is earthbound. That is a shame. If you ever do get out there and get a chance of contacting him again, I would be very interested in the outcome. If he is still earthbound and looking for his mate, he needs to be told that his friend has already gone through the 'light'.

Hambone, I know you take ouija boards VERY seriously. I didn't use to, but I DO NOW! My friends and I would sometimes interain ourselves with the boards just for fun. I would notice from time to time that the little point object our fingers were on, was actually moving in it's OWN DIRECTION! It made me very curious of course. One of the times I was involved in using the board, A good friend and I were trying to contact his dad who had died in the room we were in. Well, it seems that his dad always turned the night stand light on every night about 10;00pm to read a little before he went to sleep. We turned all the lights off, sat on his bed, and asked the ouija board to contact his dad. This was around 10;00 pm. My friend asked that his dad CALL HIM. The hall light was on, so we could see each others faces. The pointer roamed around the board and we tried to read what it might be saying because we could see a little. The suspense was building up as time went on. All of a sudden, THE NIGHTSTAND LIGHT CAME ON! At the same time THE PHONE RANG.........My friend jumped up, ran out of the room saying "THAT'S FOR YOU!" I'm not here! We laughted about it later, but I have to tell you I've not been back on a ouija board since.......

Thats an amazing story foxy :) Gave me the goosebumps, and that doesnt happen to often ;)

OM....I never thougth about the possibility that we angered "him" by telling him he could go home. Very interesting theory, but I think there's another reason for the "evil" presence being someone else.

Sorry, but I purposly witheld part of the story to see what the opinions would be on the spirit of the aircrew member without clouding it by the second, more exciting *if you can call it that* part of this particular experience.

I was sitting alone on one side of the board and to my right on a seperate side of the board was Bruce. he was a big guy....about 6'2" and probably about 220. Immediately to HIS right, sitting next to him on the same side of the board was Sean. He's a little guy. About 5'8" and 140lbs soaking wet. Yes, there's a point to the description of Bruce and Sean. Keep reading.

The planchette (ouija board pointer) started going crazy...what we were getting wasnt making sense and the candles all went out at the same time (one was in each corner of the room with one on the card table the board was on. We relit the candle on the table, but not the others. We tried to ask who was with us....asked his name and other questions but we were getting no answer. Just jibberish with the planchette and the atmosphere changed to fairly threatening which kinda scared us all, but we didnt quit right away.

Suddenly, Sean reached his right hand across his body and grabbed Bruces right forearm. Then, Sean turned his head slowly and, with nonblinking eyes, stared directly at Bruce. His eyes were hollow, no emotion and very dark looking. Sean was like the class clown so we thought at first he was messing around.

Bruce told him to let go over and over, but Sean sat there, staring at him, breating in and out very slowly now, deep breaths. Bruce reached over with his left hand and tried to peel Seans fingers off his forearm, but he couldnt! Remember, Sean is about 140lbs to Bruces about 220, and Bruce could not remove Seans hand from his arm.

Bruce looked at me and said, and I'll never forget the fear in his eyes and voice, "Hambone, get his f-ing hand off my arm"!! The other guys kinda backed away, nobody saying anything and I too just kinda sat there for a few seconds. Bruce said "My arm is getting F-ing cold!! Get him the F away from me!!" and at taht point I reached across Bruce and grabbed Seans hand to try to release Bruces arm. To my suprise, Seans hand was ICE cold and it was not cold in that room. I felt Bruces arm and it too was cold. This whole time, Sean just kept staring at Bruce.

Bruce and I were pulling at Seans hand, unable to release it. then as quickly as it happened, Sean just let go and them fell straight back and was lying on the bed (he and bruce were sitting on the foot of the bed). with his legs still hanging over the end. We all just kinda sat there for a sec....I turned on the light and slapped Sean a few time on the face (not too hard...) and within 10-15 seconds, he opened his eyes and sat up.

He looked around and asked what happened....why were the lights on. He had absolutely no recollection of this and he himself was kinda freaked out when we told him what happened although I'm not sure he believed us.

Sean is teh class clown type, so one might attribute this to his fooling around. But, two guys tryin to pull a small guys hand off somenes arm shouldnt be a problem. He had a grip that would not let go until he was ready. The look in his eyes was something I'll never forget. He could not have faked that blank, lifeless, scary, nonemotional stare he was doing. He never said a word during the event and never remembered anyting. I've lost touch with him over the years and I wonder to this date if he remembers anything or not. Or if he even thinks about it.

So, there you are. thats the rest of the story. Sorry I witheld it. I just didnt want to overshadow one event with another. I wanted to know what you guys thought. Hope you're not angry.

:)

That's very interesting, Hambone. A spirit capable of possession. If you ever go back there, it is essential that you provide yourself with full protection.
In the meantime, I hope you get something (good) from the Stamford Inn.

I dont know if new houses have been built on that spot or not. There werent any when I left a couple of years ago. If NOT, then I'll probably try to contact him again. If so, probably not. I cant realy go knock on a door and ask some guy "HI, is your house haunted? It was 10 years ago". That probably wouldnt be too cool ;)

The greatest response I have ever gotten was when I asked one of the building maintenance people if "anything had every happened" on a certain floor of a building.

The guy turned white (he was fairly dark skinned) and asked me, "Why do you ask?" in the greatest life mimics art bad horror movie way possible.

It was priceless.

Oh, but if you're still in the Air Farce when you ask such a question, it will probably be detrimental to your career.
