I'm truly curious....why do you believe there is no such thing as ghosts, psychics etc? Do you think ouija boards might do what they're advertised to? Or no way a piece of cardboard with paper glued to it with letters and numbers could really do what it does. I'm not going on a reverse witch hunt here. I'm honestly looking for the other side of the coin and would love to hear peoples reasoning on why ghosts/psychics etc are not possible.

I don't really believe it, although intellectually I know I have to be open to it. I just find it unbelievable that if such things exist, film conveniently can capture it. I also know that when it comes to odd things, religious miracles, ghosts, etc. the human mind and emotional framework can allow for such things to be interpreted that way. Go back in time and simple natural events were seen as God being angry or Spirits taking revenge and so forth. That being said, I know I have a limited human mind and supernatural things are a possibility.
 The best human beings start good new topics and vote on the better posts. |

I am skeptical but I've seen quite a few strange things in my time that lead me to believe that there are things beyond human understanding. What I don't like is conclusions being jumped to too quickly, i.e - look an orb ! proof positive of paranormal activity !....hmmmm could be dust particles or insects though !, look a light in the sky ! proof positive of a UFO under intelligent control !......hmmmm did they land and introduce themselves ? didn't think so, could be a satellite or a military prototype. Thats sort of how I approach the subject, a paranormal explanation could be the correct assessment but I believe you have to try and remain somewhat detached and objective for any research you do to have any credibility. As for psychics ?, I believe a large percentage (95%) are merely charismatic cold readers, but there is I admit a small percentage that do appear to be genuine, especially those who assist the police with investigations. I have an all encompassing theory about the paranormal that I believe may explain it, I believe that all paranormal activity is connected, I also believe that the human race's perception of it is very important. Most people I have discussed it with find the implications too disturbing and too uncomfortable to deal with though.

I have a hard time with the whole ouiji board topic. I know ghost exist. Psychics concern me but also fascinate me. Ouiji boards just allow for so much input from the users. I have a hard time with it. I have only tried it a few times, and neither time with any results that clarified anything. Same with psychics. I am completly open to both possibilties and look foward to further exploration.

Stacey...we'll take a Ouija board to the Stamford Inn sometime. I bet we'll get some results there. Orbs are always controversial to both skeptics AND paranormal researchers. I agree that you cant jump to a conclusion and say an orb is proof positive of a ghost. there are too many things that might have caused a reflection. Thats why, as i stated earlier, if I get a pic of an orb, if there's the slightest chance something could have caused a reflection causing the light in the lens or whatever, then I have to discount it and move on. I have no clue what the percentages are on psychics (nonpsychic to psychic) but after having been on many investigations with Tracey and her daughter Lisa and seeing it in action, I'm confident of their abilities and the validity of what they do. Tracey called out a name at Fort Phantom (another thread here somewhere) and I found that name in a book. Pretty convincing, to me anyway  Kokomo4me2day knows Tracey too.
