Wensday Secrets of the Freemasons 5:00pm Central Time NGC ch:65 60min 2006 Separating fact from fiction about the structure, rituals and activities of an organization whose members, some speculate, darkly control world politics and finance. The hour also explores the history of Freemasonry: Is it simply an outgrowth of a medieval guild of stonemasons? Was it tied to the Knights Templar or the Priory of Sion? Secrets of the Dead 7:00pm Central Time KUHT ch:8 60min 2004 TV-PG Shroud of Christ? Is the Shroud of Turin really Jesus' burial cloth or is it a medieval fake? Carbon dating points to the latter, but some scientists interviewed here aren't so sure. They say that the problem with the carbon dating (done in 1988) is that the sample had been handled so much that it was contaminated. The shroud's image has been determined not to be a painting, and while one expert says it could be a 13th-century camera-obscura "photo," another points to stitching that she says had to have come from the 1st century. Yet another claims that the image was made during Jesus' Resurrection. But no one disputes that whoever was wrapped in that cloth suffered monstrously. Kennedy in 1963. Included: a computer simulation based on the Zapruder film. Fort Knox: Secrets Revealed 9:00pm Central Time HIST ch:58 120min 2007 TV-PG The history of and lesser-known facts about the U.S. Bullion Depository, or Fort Knox, are examined.
