Welcome to Pussycat's Spain Train!

Spain is a land that never ceases to surprise you. Just when you think you are getting the hang of how things are, either Brussels (EU commission) steps in and ‘All change’, or you simply discover that the info you had was caught up in some weird ‘Chinese whispers’ ploy. ie versions change from mouth to mouth down the line until black has become white, and Manana is in three years time!
Anyway, we’ve lived here now for a few years and are continually discovering things that I know will be useful to someone, whether they are just here to visit, plan to live, or already do.
Although about 10% of the population in the larger municipalities and sometimes not a lot less in the rural areas are ‘foreigners’ to Spain’s soil, you have to remember that the language is pretty much Spanish full stop! This makes getting info pretty damned difficult if you do not speak it fluently, especially as the laws are currently changing at a rapid rate. Far faster than the growth rate of your Spanish vocabulary!
So, for the latest tidbits as I discover them, on a wide variety of subjects regarding Spain, call by here and be …surprised, alarmed, relieved and amused.
I will try to keep this forum brief and interesting, but if you require more info on any of the subjects covered here, then follow links back to my site, where the members continually update topics as they experience issues. http://www.costaliving.es
Thank you,

S'pose I'd better set some ground rules for this forum..... Be nice.
Be friendly.
Try not to swear badly. (I am ok, with things that one would say in front of youngsters, ie, bloody, butt, fek, etc. ) But be sensible, if you think it may offend - it probably will, so just use a different word!
Have respect for others views. (If everyone does that, we shouldn't have a problem).
