PERSONAL BODY SPACE
Forget it!
You no longer have that small space around you that you can call your own space.
Proximity is just that, and the next person to you in a queue might just as well be wearing your socks with you. 

Jostling is a national past-time, and is not considered threatening nor aggressive behaviour.

Watch out though for the little old ladies, as they have some really boney elbows, and if you land one of them between your ribs on a 'Lent' (chocolate free) period, ....it's gonna hurt!

That personal body space would bother me a bit, generally speaking! I wonder if it is a European thing partially because when I was in Italy years ago I got annoyed many times at people feeling the need to put their chest on my back when on a line. One guy I almost got into it with when he didn't move back after my hand gestures indicating he needs to move back.

This is so funny!

I have never been to Spain but one of my friends from Las Palmas is notorious for talking too close to people.  Whenever I talk to him, I find myself slowly backing up, hahaha.

The Spanish sound a lot like the Poles.  When I was standing in queue to board a plane in Warsaw, the Polish travelers silently but determinedly pushed together like sardines in a can and refused to let anyone else in line, ha-ha.  It was assigned seating so I just stood back and waited for the throng to board.  I giggled quite a lot at that.  An old Polish woman flashed me a look of instant death, and that shut me up quick, he-he.

I had to deal with hoards of people around me when I lived in Japan ( hundreds of years ago).  I didn't mind it so much then, except when old men would spit at me!  Now, it's a whole different thing.  I DEMAND PERSONAL SPACE!  I DON"T EVEN ALLOW PEOPLE TO ENTER MY SPACE VERBALLY!  You can be across the room, and if you're talking to me, I may ask you to quite!

I don't mind it generally speaking, unless Im in the middle of a large crowd trying to push thier way through to something. Like cows hearding to the feeders. That drives me insane.

I'm a tactile person - and with my friends there aren't any issues with personal space. But someone has to be invited.  I normally cope by asking someone if I'm in their way - they soon back off!

When out in day to day life, I normally have the dog with me... and he's a bouncy boy - so people tend to keep their distance anyway. Works for me lol!
