G'day.  I recently found a picture Atlas designed for young kids. It was crammed full of awesome facts and enticing photos of gumbo and clam chowder, pyramids and windmills, gypsy dances, dragon parades, kung fu,  palaces,  vineyards and exotic cheeses, igloos, bullfights, kilts, cherry blossom and taj mahals.

Fanbloodytastic !!!!   - I thought, looking up my own Wide Brown Land, which everyone
knows is the best place on earth!!

We scored a brief note to the effect that more poisonous animals live in Australia than in any other country !!!  Fair dinkum !!!!!!!  That was it.
Mates !!!!!

Stone the crows !!   Is that what the world thinks of Australia???  Just outback full of swagmen camped by billabongs, kangaroosters and other dastardly dangerous deadly narsties?

When Frankie asked me to consider hosting a mini-forum dedicated to the Land of Oz  I shot up the nearest gum tree - struth, cobbers, I'm over my akubra hat in work.  But this wanker of an Atlas made me reconsider.   Aussies never skive off doing their duty.  So I reckon I just better have a go at putting all you foreign blokes and shielas straight on a few things about life, love, the real amber fluid, everything  ....  Down Under.

Apparently I need to state my expectations concerning acceptable behaviour in this miniforum for which I am responsible. 

I'm an aussie, and therefore pretty relaxed.  I'm always off topic myself, like a kangaroo hopping from field to field - so in that respect feel free to fly high.  Stylishly and creatively  of course, and with a glass of champers in your hand, if that helps.

The iron fist stuff:  I expect everyone who posts here to do it in the spirit of "good will".  This covers a very wide area of possibilities while eliminating hatefulness, bigotry, personal insults, extremism, deliberate unpleasantness, nastiness -  and things calculated to upset 'reasonable' people.
