I hereby vow and declare I will  never chomp into Spanish mackerel again, Britt!! Write that down please, Newbie, and remind me of this noble resolution if I weaken and start sliding down  the buttery slope that leadeth unto perdition where there will be whaling and gnashing of teeth

Wikipedia says...Normal butter softens to a spreadable consistency around 15 °C (60 °F), well above refrigerator temperatures. The "butter compartment" found in many refrigerators may be one of the warmer sections inside, but it still leaves butter quite hard. Until recently, many refrigerators sold in New Zealand featured a "butter conditioner", a compartment kept warmer than the rest of the refrigerator—but still cooler than room temperature—with a small heater. Keeping butter tightly wrapped delays rancidity, which is hastened by exposure to light or air, and also helps prevent it from picking up other odors. Wrapped butter has a shelf life of several months at refrigerator temperatures.

I prefer to keep it out of the fridge, I guess it boils down to whos using it and for what....I would like one of those refrigerators from New Zealand, just have to figure out how to power it up... :)

Yes, but Mr, Robinson, Sir, do you use it to butter your thighs before putting on your fatigues?  Or is this not regulation?

(P.S.) We support our soldiers 100%!  If you need butter, just ask.  :D

Here's to you Mr Robinson!!

You do realise that if you take a New Zealand refrigerator to New Hampshire, it'll be upside down!!

And if you flush it down the loo, butter will swirl away anticlockwise...or is that clockwise. Heading for Wikipedia as I type...

I got distracted from the delectabilities of butter by the fascinations of the Coriolis Force and have dedicated a whole thread to it's swirling nuances.

I have noticed a few shared traits, UsedToRide - and one or two differences. Like I was a shaking wreck after my first ride. I have a very healthy respect for bikers!!!

OR

Take it out of the fridge, let it melt a bit then smear it on your feet and  go walkabout. Who knows you might then, one day, find your way back to wherever it was you started from. But then, maybe not.......

:thanks:

I've read about this!  The Australian Butter Boomerang Affect!

Let me find my manual.

Oh, yes, here it is in "The Dull Americans Guide to Walkabouts" G. Yora Chump:

"Apply warmed butter liberally to feet.  Take care to smear between toes.  Attempt to walk the length and breadth of Australia in search of a Vision.  Do not be surprised if you become lunch for a dingo."

Britt, that reminds me of a book an American friend once persuaded me to read, called I think "Mutant Messsage Down Under" or something like that.  It was, in my opinion, the silliest book I've ever come across.

Archeologists have discovered an ur-kangaroo dinosaur almost perfectly  preserved in the peat bogs of the Great Sandy desert of North Western Australia. Ancestor of the Muttabuttasaurus, this amazing creature is held to have hopped like a kangaroo while still having fishy fins.  The nuttabuttasaurus or Brucie, as local diggers have dubbed him, is likely to become a tourist draw, and arrangements are already underway by the Disneey consortium for a theme park.
