Yes, the impossibility of creation itself and life apart from divine involvement and continued oversight.

That is not proof, sir. Is there ANY irrefutable evidence out there that proves the existance of a supreme being?

In all fairness to JBF, you didn't ask for proof.  You asked for "one logical reason."

Since God is above and beyond science, you cannot prove his existence scientifically. Then again, you can't prove the existence of logic by means of science, either.

Good answer!  ::thumbs::

Using science to investigate matters of faith is like using a thermometer to measure time.

If we're dealing with facts as we know them today...

1. In a universe where only dead matter exist (which is what we KNOW at this point in time) life exist only on this planet.

2. Every example we have of life on this planet is generated from some other living thing. Again, I've read about the scientific speculations regarding abiogenesis for 45 years but those speculation are just that, speculations and not facts.

3. Given the above it would seem logical that life on this planet had its genesis from some other life form.

Whether you call that other life form "God" or more precisely the God of the Bible is another matter.

You bet, Dicky.  Here you go:

Scientists have proven that where the conditions are right, life will begin.

Where life exists, it will eventually evolve into intelligent life, since intelligence is the single greatest survival factor.  It is far better than fangs, speed, or muscles.

So the reason for the Universe is to create intelligent life.

Only a Intelligent Creator would want that.

How about Pi? Or the speed of light? Or Plank's constant? Or the garvitational constant?

All of those constants were set at the instant of Creation. if any one of those values were changed even by one decimal place, the entire Universe could not exist.

Therefore God set it up that way.

Didn't like those answers? Go outside tonight, out in the country and look up at the night sky at the billions of stars and galaxies...

How's that for proof?

As I have spoken once on this thread in regards to the initial question raised by Dickybetz. I conclude with the word of God to back my response:

"For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse..."
Romans 1:20
