Dear Free.man,

Just so you know...quotes from Baha'i writings do not fall under Christian Doctrine nor do we consider them as

"Inspired by God".

Therefore, please respect the Introduction to this Forum.

Thank You

Praise the Lord and welcome to The Christian’s Straight and Narrow Path, a forum dedicated to Jesus Christ and His church.  We invite all Christians to come and participate in discussions here, and at the same time build your relationship with the Lord and minister to your fellow Christians.  This purpose of this forum is a place for Christians to encourage, edify and build each other up – to provide true service to each other.

Those who haven’t accepted Christ are also welcome to participate in the forum, but we expect a modicum of respect to prevail at all times
; remember, “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.”  --Matthew 22:39.  Hence, no name calling, bad language or inappropriate graphics will be tolerated.  This is not the place to attack Christians or Christianity; there are other forums where that may be tolerated but this is not one of them.  This is a forum for Christians, by Christians and about Christians.  The focus will be on doctrine and belief, not attacks on Christians or members of this forum.  Any violation of these forum rules will be dealt with swiftly and firmly.

JBF, have you ever read a book called the Screwtape Letters by CS Lewis?

That book does a lot to show different ways in which the devil tries to trick us and things to be aware of. It isn't just people that wear sheeps clothing. When a person put's their faith in a crusifix on the dashboard to keep them safe is that having faith in Jesus?

It isn't hard to spend time in church thinking about someone singing out of tune or what they are wearing rather than focussing on what is important, the reason we even came to church. There are so many ways in which we can be deceived.

A man I know that had been a Christian for years started following the JWs. A Christian friend of mine and myself were trying to do something to talk some sense into the guy. My Christian friend just couldn't get past the idea that they didn't think Jesus died on a cross but on a stake or a tree. Some translations do say that. That isn't the important fight and as long as my friend was debating with him about whether the word "cross" should be used, so many other details that should have been talked about were never mentioned.

Even in this thread when we want to talk about ways we can be deceived or people who might deceive us, it like so many other threads lately have turned back to 1 theme. That looks like a way of us being deceived also.

Sometimes we need to let other people talk or talk about things other than that 1 item that is keeping us stuck in a rut or keeping us from moving forward with whatever it is we need to do for the Lord. I'm sure just as the idea of the cross was important to my friend and other themes are equally important to others, sometimes if things are either let go or just not mentioned then God's work can go on in the way He wants and not in the way others are trying to persuade every conversation to go.

Deceit comes in many forms, even in ways that we think are helpful.

Dear friend,

"33"Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. 34You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. 35The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. 36But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. 37For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.""

Does this mean when you publicly use this board to attack Baha`i's or Buddhists or Mormons, etc., you are exempt from dealing with others with respect?

Just curious. . . .

Would such an action be within the guidelines of behavior on the rest of the forums here at 24 Hours?

Is it alright for some to go the Baha`i board for instance and be disruptive?

Regards,

Scott

Sir, I have never been to the Baha'i forum and don't see any reason to go there.  I assume there's a good reason for Baha'is to come here, however, because there are many of your faith posting in different topics.  We do not discourage people of other faith from coming here and participating.

Scott,

First of all, I don't know Franks policy regarding other forums... but if someone comes in and doesn't follow or respect the Introduction here they will be dealt with swifty as mentioned in the Introduction. Secondly, since we as bible believing Christians feel the Bahai faith is false doctrine we will discuss it as such without being muzzled as this is how we warn and encourage one another. As far as those who enter the Bahai board... the Bahai members need to decide how they wish to handle it.

Thank You For Your Questions

If those who run this forum say no Bahai scriptures allowed, or even Bahais, that's the way it goes, period. If they say posts that mention lemons or bugs will get deleted, then posts that mention lemons and bugs can be deleted and if the member pushes it, that is grounds for a warning or access denied to that member by the forum owner. That is a big part of what makes the forum their forum. This goes for any forum here.  That's why I do not post in this forum.

I'm sorry for responding so late david. No, I haven't read that book. I bet being a CS Lewis it has it's woven messages?

I agree, deception comes in many forms. Often, it begins with the enemy causing us to question God's word by efforts to create doubt. Then, once doubt is manifest in our minds... the enemy can sway us to stray by using "smooth words and flattering speech."
