Many people go through life looking for God and claiming that He doesn’t exist because they can’t see Him. We have to know where to look and we have to know what to look for. Many of these people claiming to “look” for God and doubt His existence are mostly looking for a physical being. I guess an old man with long hair wearing a robe darting across the road in front of the car on a dark night or maybe this same old man appearing in your room after having walked through a wall. I know a man one time that setup a hotmail account that only he knew the address and if God was real, He would send this guy an email. The guy never got an email and if he had would have had some other excuse as to why this wasn’t God. So just where do we see God? We see God in His Word. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The best place to start looking for God is in His Word, the Bible. Here is where we learn the characteristics of God and the different ways in which He can be seen and it isn’t always with eyes. As you read along not understanding anything try praying to God, asking for understanding. Before you know it, the mush you just read 3 or 4 times has meaning. Was this actually a coincidence? Uhhh, was that maybe…. No, it couldn’t be Try thanking God for the new found understanding and see how things begin to blossom and open up, full of meaning and understanding. God speaks to us through His Word. We can see God in His Word. oops, maybe it is This required faith. The act of reading God’s Word in search of Him shows faith. Praying for understanding shows faith. Thanking Him shows faith. All of these things show faith. If you go into this with a skeptical view, just going through the motions so you can claim that you did it, it wont work. If God is real then He will know your skepticism. It will not work. We see God in His people It isn’t hard to tell a Christian. Usually the smile alone can give it away. There is a peace and happiness that is seen on the face of a Christian that isn’t seen anywhere else. We do have to be careful not to be deceived. Looking at the love that comes from the heart of a true Christian that is happy in the Lord shows God. You can see God in this person’s life. In His works. Once you learn about God by studying His Word and see the results by seeing His people then you amazingly start to see the Lord working all around you. Sure in those sunsets and in flowers and children etc. but just wait until the day that the mean old man down the street gives you a smile because of you showing him an amount of love rather than anger or worse yet, ignoring him. Imagine that job opening up when you know people have been praying for you about it or a friend or relative finding peace in life’s conditions because of a prayer or something the Lord lead you to say. These things happen all the time all around us every day. Some of us see them and some don’t. The biggest reasons that those who are looking do not see God is because they do not know what they are looking for. If you want to see God, here is what you do. Arm yourself with the information you would need for any other adventure, exploration or hunt you might be going on. You will need all of the information you can find on the character, the traits, the habitat and any other information you might consider beneficial for your hunt. You wouldn’t hunt deer in the middle of the city or search for lost gold in your underwear drawer and chances are you aren’t going to make God appear at your command in order to prove Himself to you and there is a reason for this. Anyone who requires proof of God before knowing anything at all about Him will never have enough proof to prove anything to them anyway. If you told a skeptic that if they went to a certain point on earth, spin in a circle while shining a blinking red light into the sky and they would see God and they did this and actually did see God, they wouldn’t believe you anyway. You would never convince them it wasn’t a trick or hoax. It is too easy to not believe. Believing might actually require some effort. If you think that telling people to prove it to you over and above whatever ridiculous excuse you can dream up and an unwillingness to put forth any effort beyond your keyboard then you wont see Him and chances are that you aren’t actually looking for God as much as you are looking for a debate. You have to realize that you do NO ONE a favor by finding God except yourself. NO ONE owes you anything including God. It is us that seeks Him, not the other way around. If you are looking for God, arm yourself with the information you need then go to where you think He might hang out. Do this with an open mind that is educated with the traits and characteristics of God, don’t look for ways to excuse things away and you just might be surprised at what you see. Use at least the same diligence you would use if searching for a treasure of gold. If you find what you are looking for it will be much more precious than a treasure of gold. Happy Hunting

It isn’t always the “skeptic” or “doubter” that can’t see God. Sometimes God’s people get so tied up in today’s world that they lose sight of God. Things that happen along life’s path and unanswered questions can make a person start wondering why. It can make a person lose his way and become blind to the Lord. It can happen to any of us. It was learned that in some of her writings that late in life sister Theresa, was facing a crisis of faith. There are others that have faced this faith crisis. Once you allow the devil to add his two cents worth to the mix then your crisis becomes a dilemma and this is where I find myself today. Some life’s situations have put me into a situation in which I doubt my salvation. I spend a lot of time not seeing God. On my way to this point in my life God has blessed me in many ways. One way that God has spoken to me over the last 10 years was through sermons and studies in which He would inspire me to write. There was a period of years that mostly what I did was to study God’s Word, pray, meditate on scripture and allow God to give me all of the understanding a man could ask for. It was during this time that I truly understood what Paul meant by pray without ceasing. Just today this dilemma was mentioned to someone in an email, another email was sent later and the time in between was spent typing in the words that I felt were inspired by God. It is the above titled “Seeing God”. Even with this being known and seeing God in my life, obstacles have been built that are keeping me from seeing Him and allowing Him to bless me. It isn’t only the skeptic that doesn’t see God. Sometimes it is His own people and sometimes they don’t even realize it. You don’t have to look far to find someone in that situation but for me, this current dilemma has to be worked through. My plan of action: Seriously I am not looking for any pity or sympathy here, I am seriously trying to find God again and get Him back into my life. It has felt for so long that all hope is lost. Even my faith has been pretty much stripped. All I have left now is prayer. My prayer life has been a shambles for so long but perhaps anything will be better than nothing. One of our best ways of getting close to God is by talking to Him and our best way of talking to Him is through prayer. I feel sure there will be those that are here that will pray for me as well. Perhaps God can use this entire event in some way to bring Glory to Him through Jesus Christ and in some way be a blessing to everyone here.

For God may speak in one way or another, yet man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night When deep sleep falls upon man, while slumbering on their beds, then He opens the ears of men and seals their instruction. Job 33:14-16
