I guess it shouldn't surprise me that I find the 1935 Auburn Speedster ( check http://www.californiaclassix.com/archive/35_Auburn_c167.html for photos and details) to be the most beautiful car in the world since I find 1930's architecture and aircraft design so aluring. It doesn't look so great with the top up, but top down it wins hands down.

What do you think is the most attractive design?

MERCEDES 300 SL GULLWING

I saw one of these at an outdoor car show when I was a kid and I never forgot it.  Those gull wing doors are distinctive and sexy.  One of my father's friends had one and let me ride around the block in it.  'Course, I was eleven so I wasn't driving, LOL.  A good example of a Gullwing 300SL can sell for well over $250,000.  About 1,400 were produced from 1954 until 1957.  Pretty nifty, eh?

I don't know the year but the Lotus is a pretty sweet car wouldn't you say?

This is indeed one of the most beautiful cars in the world, in my opinion.  But please somebody enlighten me how this car, having been produced in the 1970s, can be titled as a 1935 automobile?  California seems to be a rather peculiar place.

This appears to be a much newer version; note the bumpers, wing, wheels, etc.

Odd indeed. I can only see titling the car as a 1935 if it were restored on a 1935 chassis.
