I have a remote for my car that unlocks my doors and my alarm.  It also pops open my trunk.  Since last September, there's been probably 10 times when it would not pop open my trunk.  It makes a clicking noise at my dash when it doesn't want to open my trunk.  Any suggestions?

My Cougar has done the same thing.  The silly car is 12 years old, but the rest of the fob buttons work fine.  Now, while I am hitting the button on the fob, I have to slam a fist into the trunk at the same time.  Something goofy in the catch mechanism.  I have no idea if that has anything to do with your issue, but it works for my car!

Hey Erinna...wouldn't the battery still have power if the thing is making a noise in the dash when the button is used?

Listen to me, like I have a mechanical fiber in my body anywhere.

Is there a manual handle by the driver's seat along the side by the door? I always hated power windows also! I always thought that if I went off a bridge into water I would be stuck breaking the window.................under 12' of water.

check for the solenoid in the trunk for a poor connection. Check the wiring connector at the solenoid for a poor connection.

MOve from Texas, the weather might affect the operation of the Key Fob over 100 deg they melt (JK)

Is the car in PARK?

What is FOB?  The battery must still be good because it still unlocks the rest of my doors and turns on the alarm.

What does the solenoid look like?

I like the car I have now.  The tinted windows keep it cooler in my car than I had for my last car.  IN my last car, a soda can exploded all over the inside because it had gotten so hot!

Yes, the car is in park :P

Sorry!  The fob is the little mechanism that has all the remote buttons on it that you hook onto your keychain.  ::sgrin::

hehe okies :)  whew.. i thought you were abbreviating something there.  They gave me two remotes for my car.  It looked like the previous owner had used one and the other one was put up.  The one they used is so worn that the part that attaches on the ring is broke.  The one I use looks brand new.  I think that it has to be the solenoid or whatever reads the remote in the trunk.  I just don't know how to check it or pinpoint it.
