Someone recently told me that when you put your car's AC from normal AC to the setting that says Max A/C, what you are doing is having the car recycle the air from inside the vehicle, instead of doing what the normal A/C setting does: draw it in from outside. Is this true? Thanks in advance.

Cool, I never knew that - thanks! I always thought it just meant more power drain since the system got louder or stronger in force when that setting was on.

I remember seeing that setting by its old name on a car I had, it was labeled Recirc.

I always run my AC on MAX... besides recircularting the air it also helps use the inside cold air instead of cooling fresh outside air. Another point is that it helps remove smoke etc from the inside of the cabin.

When you run your a/c crack a window on both sides. This helps the return/supply air pressures and give better return air circulation/re-circulation airflow and conditioning... Note: crack= 1/2" no more

On hot days, you'll cool your car down quicker if you open your windows and drive for a couple of minutes before starting the A/C. Naturally blowing out the hot air instead of keeping the windows closed and blasting the A/C on high will cool the car faster and save energy.
