::thumbs:: 1Jester thanks for the information. I actually have a Car port that I keep her in,if I don't drive her much, I take the battery out and cover her. There have been several attempts to take her but no luck. I have an alarm, kill switch, club and all my neighbors keep and eye on her. Funny thing is they have to taken part more than the actual car and so far couldn't figure out how to remove them (kids today know nothing about how old cars are built). Example my side mirrow are on a huge metal cable they are prepared for that so they leave them hanging. I would be broken hearted if she ever did get taken, this car has been more loyal to me than many friend have. :bigwink:

::thumbs:: Very nice Librtyhead in great shape. What's nice about old cars here in San Diego is they last longer because of the weather. They don't rust out from the salt on the road when it snows, :giantgrin:we don't have snow..

Nice Chevelle, L-head! When I was in college, one of my professors showed me his mom's car, a white on white 74 Chevelle, with swivels and only 10,000 miles.

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. -Matthew 22:37-39

Sweet!

While I'm no expert, I've done my fair share of wrench twisting. I learned on the old cars (50's-70's) so the modern electronic stuff throws me but I can still do a mean brake job. :bigwink:

Here's my pride and joy:

Still has the original engine: 216 straight 6.

The leaf pattern painted on the rear fender looks realistic! ::shades::

Cool forum, Shimmy. I considered starting a forum on car sales and leasing, but I don't think I'd have the time to do much with it.

I don't have a picture of it, but I sold my 1970 Dodge Dart a couple years ago.  We bought it in terrible condition, put a small fortune in it and had lots of fun at the Drag Strip.  It had a 340 in it, but no matter what we did, we never could get that car out of the low 13's.  Never made sense...it should have been faster than that.

I still miss it, but would never do a restore on a Mopar again.  Way too costly.

Costomizing in the epitome! It was said that someday this car will be mass produced!

I hope it comes soon!

[size=Any takers for this Chevy?]

[size=Unbelievable!]

[size=The company (don't know who at the moment) is planning a production run of about 100 vehicles.]

[size=Sits on a Corvette C6 chassis, front styled like a 57 Chevy, side like a 58, rear like a 59.]

[size=Hence the designation "789".]

I loved them too.  I had my first...well, whatever in a Dodge Dart.:bigwink:  They've been special to me ever since.

The 12's?  I woulda killed to get my car in the 12's.  The fastest it ever ran was with me driving.  We thought me being lighter might help.  I think I'm just a better driver , but you'd never get them to admit that.  No girl can outdrive a guy! :D  It clocked 13.11.  It's previous best with a guy driving was 13.68.  I'd say I did something right.::nsmile::

Wouldn't you think a 340 should have been in the 12's though?  I sure would have thought so.  That will puzzle me to my dying day.

was it an auto or 4 sp? slicks, what type of fuel? tire pressure? engine rpm at launch? reaction time? just a bunch of general questions.

These beats had the horse power but were lacking in toruque...

It was an automatic.  It started out a 4 speed, but hubby missed a gear and blew the engine the first time out to the Strip.  I made him put an auto in it after that.  That may have slowed it down a bit, but I don't think so.  The night he blew it, it was running mid to hi 13's.  I always ran Hi-Test in it.  I ran it with racing slicks.  Reaction time?  Not sure I recall.  Certainly nothing to write home about.

I always thought the problem came from the hubby putting too much weight on the rearend.  He got the idea it would come out of the hole better with some weight on the backend.  I disagreed then..still do.  It seems to me the lighter, the better.

We tried everything and it just got too costly to keep trying.  Sure was frustrating though.  I put thousands into that car and we'd get to the Strip and have Grand Nationals right out of the factory whipping our butts.  It was embarrassing.

I bet it was priceless!  Probably about like mine the 1st time a GN blew my doors off.  OUCH...really hurts the pride.  I saw a GN go in the high 11's.  If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I woulda never believed it.
