I recently decided I'd put some work into my '03 Infiniti M45's finish so I wouldn't have to wash it so often.

First, I washed the car using deionized, filtered water. Next, I used Meguiars Paint Cleaner to remove swirls and dirt from the paint. After that I used a clay bar to get rid of deeper contaminants in the paint. Finally I used 3 coats of Liquid Glass as a sealant to keep fallout and dirt from sticking to the paint.

I think I'm good for another 4 months before I need to do it again.

A detailer suggested finishing with a good carnuba wax on top of the sealer to make it look shinier, but I haven't done so yet.

The trick to successfully applying layers of Liquid Glass is to let it cure for at least a day between coats. I put on the first coat right after washing and clay barring my car the first time. After a day I used Meguiar's Instant Detailer to remove the dust, then applied the second coat. I repeated the steps for the third coat, also.

Now that is taking care of your car. I think I will just have a detailer do it for me.

Your car must look new. ::thumbs:: '03 Infiniti M45's nice car by the way.

I'm pretty well like L.C.

Except that there is a local Girls car club and they have charity car washes once a year. So that is when my car shines....:lmao:

They even have water fights...

With "T's" shirts on and them skimpy shorts etc.....::inlove::::LOL::

Wow, Shiroh! (did that mean "big" or "little" brother, I forgot.) I just use the standard 5-cycle carwash at my local Texaco.  Supplemented by Armorall for everything plastic, and chrome polish for the rims.

I have my car fully detailed once a year, and take it to the carwash once or twice a month.
