Bowhead whale believed to be 120-130 years old based on harpooon tip found in whale's blubber...

This thead could end up in History (once there is such a place) ---

but for now, I thought of it on the artifact level...

 

I feel sorry for the whale-- but what a neat sort of thing in a way!

I read that one last week and thought it was pretty interesting. I'd heard of 150+ year old sea turtles, but I didn't know that some whales lived so long. I think they caught a big sea turtle once that had graffiti on its shell- he had been "vandalized" by the crew of a whaling ship in the 1840s!
