Good lord, Rick, you blow me away with that Seated stuff.  You pretty much blow me away with all of it.  I remember the 1867-S half and the 1796 Spanish real.  The Phoenix buttons have always made me envious.

Thanks Rob.

Been a lot of work (especially that demo from last year that kept me busy almost every morning), but it's been a lot of fun.  :)

Frank,

Rob is correct.  Those are coincidental finds that may show up on the surface or may be found in a hole while digging for a coin.  I really like the "bennington" marbles... many of those showed up at a demo out here that uncovered a 1906 earthquake dump.

Thanks Jerry!

I love the jewelry you find and have posted over the years. (nice group shots- very cool) I know my wife would rather see me bring those finds more often.  :D

Thanks LM.

Thanks Rick, The "eye candy" kind of keeps me going. I see a lot of type about clad coin shooting...But it is all I can do at times. The candy comes with the clad hunting.

I do get out to a "demo" and find some older stuff. Just can't afford the time and travel $$$ to do much of it.

Gold coin? LOL...just the counterfeit $50 dollar Maple Leaf :-|

Thanks Bob.

I know guys that beat the tail off me though... One guy specifically from my area found a gold coin while I was out with him, and... months later, he went out hunting with another guy from the forum here (SJBrian) and he finds a gold coin with him too!  (but, given the time and effort I've placed in the hobby, I'm definitely happy with what I've found :))

Steve, aka "Millennium", is another detecting demigod that puts us humble folk to shame. He's here in my hometown and we get out together once or twice a year. I wish you'd post here more, Steve, if you're reading this. Heaven knows you have plenty of "eye candy" to show off.

We have enjoyed a few "Millennium" visits here, at least.

:iagree:

I agree on both points... 1) the "eye candy" seems to be that little extra nudge to get me out there into the field, and 2) I have my location limits... usually stick to about 1/2 hour from my home... any farther than that cuts into family time and money.

Steve/Millennium is one of the "masters" that would encourage me to get out when I first started (and he probably had no clue)... When I first saw his web site (photo area), I think I checked it out several times looking at the same finds that he made, and think "wow, that guy must have been stoked when he found that one!" ::sgrin::

The other site I'd have fun viewing was your Digger's Diary, and I think I even bugged you a few times to bring it back.  (think you mentioned a friend was hosting it for you at one time)  Fun format because you had each find photo-shopped into the summary of events.  ::thumbs::

I believe this is the page you were referring to.

I need to move it over here and expand it.  I will probably redo it, with slightly bigger pix.  Those were originally intended (and used) as CU sigline banners.

Thanks for the marble explanation.  ::nsmile::

That's the site!  (you also have a list of all the keeper coins somewhere... that list would look good on the site too)

What do you think of having an area placed here in your forum that holds personal detectorist's sites?  (yours along with Steve's and even others?)

Thanks Steve.

I wish it would've held up as well as yours since this one has the 'S' mint mark.

This picture isn't as clear as yours but you can sort of see the scratches on the back and a rim ding on the front.  (was a little "bruised" due to the earth moving equipment)

P.S. Glad to see you posting and can't wait to see what you dig up next!

An excellent idea, of course.

I have been meaning to update that and put it here (one day with pix of them all, eventually)
