Not great by some standards, but it was a good day for me! Ended up with 84 coins, all clad except for a '58 D Wheat. Totaled out to $4.10, had fun! Also got three more of those Boardwalk tokens and two earrings, junk I think as they are not marked in any way. The "Claw" pendant is kinda cool I thought, even for junk! (oh, I thru in a pull tab to represent the kazillion I dug! )

Interesting "claw"... an eagle talon? What's it made out of?

Heck, even if it was all clad and you dug a kazillion pulltabs, it sounds like your beaches are more exciting than ours!  I can run for like an hour and be lucky to get two or three signals.  If I ever found anything so old as a 1958-D wheatie on the beaches here, I'd have a heart attack.

PS- I notice you're from Santa Cruz.  Beautiful place.  I spent the summer of '86 there- my only time on the West Coast.

What I loved about Santa Cruz is that it combined my favorite aspects of two of my former haunts: it has beaches, like Florida where I was born and raised (and this part of GA), and it also has the same sort of hilly terrain, trees, plants, and birdsong as I remember from my time in the NC mountains.  But it combines the two in one area!

Of course there are no redwood trees in NC, but otherwise, the place I stayed in Santa Cruz felt very similar to the Asheville area in Western NC- my "other" home.

Hi Ron, We do get around ;-)
Good set of finds. And it can get better as the summer comes...
