Here is a 1635 4 maravedis that was later stamped as a 6 maravedis in 1659. This was found here in Georgia on one of our ballast islands. When I dug it, I thought it was a piece of junk lead.....until I wiped it off....

At first, I did't know......I posted the pics on other forums, and let people smarter than I am tell me what it is...lol...Here is a link they sent me, and if you look in the first column 4th row...you will see its' brother...same marks almost exactly.

It's an amazing feeling....Just to thihnk that the last person to hold this coin was probably a Spanish soldier, fighting in the new world to make a living for himself and protect the others around him.
