OK, this is crazy.  But watch the story develop!  If the remote treasure hunt is successful, I will later transcribe the whole story into this thread.  If my deputized treasure sleuths strike out, oh well... it was interesting and fun.  The story is kind of scattered and may be hard to follow, but I will sum it all up if the hunt pays off.

Someone could've just resodded right over them if they had sunk down about 5" or so.
