Well this is a embedded fossil , the reason i call it that is cause of the tiny sea shell that is partly embedded in the rock, which makes a interesting and neat fossil

found this a year ago and thought it looked interesting and neat so i picked it up and added it to my collection

One thing about this fossil is that the rock has a very porous surface and it shows in the pic, even the fossil has signs of being porous

Well this is one of my better finds of last year frank, never did expect to find one here in Abilene, but yet i did

This is the second embedded fossil i have found so far and i keep looking for unusual fossils

Frank, have yoy ever looked through limestone? A lot of places here haul it in for driveways and filler...I have found a lot of fossils in that stuff...

I used to live near a mesa which had many fossils and would spend hours digging them up found some interesting fossils, so yes limestone is a neat place to look for fossils
