it was a sad day in the marvel universe, when at the end of the Hero Civil War, Captain America surrendered to Federal authorities and was taken to the federal building to await his trial for treason. While being escorted to the holding across the street, Cap was assassinated. If you get a chance to pick up the books; Fallen Son, i highly recommend it. Attachment: (Downloaded times)

I read about this. It will surely be seen as a symbolic reflection of what is happening in the real world, like so many other comic book events are. I believe the drama building up to this already had been, actually.

I never liked Capt. America But I did like his suit. Did he get shot in the head? He has super-healing abilities. This reminds me of the death of Superman.

I don't think his healing abilities were super, were they? Not sure myself.

He was stuck in a chunck of ice by Red Scull for like 40 years I think. He was the epitome of the German super-race. I cannot remember his sidekick for the life of me.

Captain America was "superhuman" to a point. The experiments and drugs used on him in the 1940's made him the peak of physical human perfection and gave him longer life but he was never "superhuman" so to speak. He was never endowed with truly "superhuman" strength but was as strong, quick and atheletic as it was humanely possible for a man to be through his chemical maniputation. I liked him, he was a great leader for the Avengers. And the way he calmly walked up to Thanos (the most powerful being in the universe at the time) in the Infinity Gauntlet mini-series after having watched Thanos swat away a coalition of the most powerful superheroes in a blink and say. "its's not over till the fat lady sings Thanos" Some people think he looks kind of hokey, but I think in the right context he can be great. Attachment: (Downloaded times)

This reminds me of the death of Superman. he took two to the chest from a high-powered rifle. he's dead. like real dead, not "movie dead" where the hero takes 6,000 rounds, point-blank from a 20mm chain gun and is walking around a week later.

THANOS
Real Name: Thanos Height: 6 ft. 7 in. Strength Level: The exact extent of Thanos's physical strength is not known, but he was able to engage both the Thing and Thor in hand-to-hand combat simultaneously for an extended period of time and held his own. Presumably, then, Thanos possessed at least Class 100 strength, enabling him to lift (press) over 100 tons. Known Superhuman Powers: Thanos possessed incalculable superhuman power. By far the most powerful of the Titanian Eternals, Thanos was a mutant whose massive, heavy-bided body was born with the capacity to synthesize cosmic energy for certain personal uses. (This is a trait that Thanos shared with his father Alars and all Earthborn Eternals but not with Titan-born Eternals. Through still unknown bionic amplification, Thanos increased his physical strength and resilience to levels surpassing even the strongest of the Earth Eternals. Through meditation and certain mystical techniques, Thanos augmented his power in still other ways, enabling him to tap, transform, and direct vast quantities of cosmic energy for destructive force. His skin in nearly invulnerable, particularly against heat, cold, electricity, radiation, toxins, aging, and disease, and he can survive indefinitely without food or water even before his "curse" from Death left him immortal, unable to die. His mind is also invulnerable to most forms of psychic attack, and can project a psionic blast of energy as well as blasts of plasma/cosmic energy from his eyes and hands. He usually employs a hovering chair with additional offensive weapons and the ability to teleport fantastic distances. Deadliest of all Thanos's attributes, perhaps, was his mind, whose superhuman level of intellect was totally dedicated to the annihilation of life.

Wait a sec. Someone is dead for real? I thought this was all some comic book drama thing going on. Someone who played Captain America in some movie got shot, is that what you're telling me? He "surrendered" to feds for what? Why was he shot? Do they know who shot him?

Captain America wasn't a Nazi. Cap's side-kick was Bucky. who was later kidnapped and brainwashed by the Soviets and became "Winter Soldier" he later escaped from Soviet control and went free-lance. he was hired to murder Wolverine's family in Japan. So Wolvie's pissed. big-time

Apparently comic book lingo is as perplexing as Biker lingo. Wolverine as in you, or Wolverine the character? And I don't know a thing about this Civil War, probably because I don't follow comic book/superhero stuff. <picture of UTR scratching her head in confusion>
