They are making a film version of probably the best graphic novel of ALL TIME Watchmen.

When I first read this collection of issues in a graphic novel format it changed my life, I would never look at comic books in the same light again. Any comic book fan who hasn't read it needs to get hold of it right now. In 1986 it was the first graphic novel to portray so called "superheroes" as real people with bitter histories, complex personalities and conflicting dynamics.

If you haven't read it and have any interest in the post-modern nature of superheroes then you should read it, without Watchmen there would be no Heroes, no Batman Begins and none of the X-men films.

The writer Alan Moore (google it) is a genius and was also the man behind the graphic novel V for Vendetta (the film version is pap) the artist Dave Gibbons is working with the makers of the film.  Alan Moore refuses to as he thinks that the comic genre can tell a story that can never be replicated on film.

i whole-heartedly agree Ninja.  i was not much of a comic fan before reading that.  i mean, i picked up  a book here or there, or a mini-series, but that was it.  Reading WatchMen, changed all that.

i am curious about a movie adaptation.  personally, i don't think they'll be able to do it justice.  unless tehy make 3 hours long.  but even then, it'll come up short.
