i went and saw IRONMAN Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. 

it was Awesome!!!  i truly feel that this is the best Marvel movie yet. and y'all know how much i love the first X-Men.  the Dialogue was absolutely wonderful.  very quick, back-and-forth.  almost Tarantino-esque.

the origin story is modified for the times.  instead of escaping from "The Mandarin" in China, Tony escapes from "The Tan-Rings" in Afganistan.  it works quite well.

the Dynamic between Downey, Jr and Howard is great.  and the play between Paltrow and Downey is even better.  She does a great job as Pepper Potts, Stark's executive assistant and confidant.  The suit is great.  The way he comes up with the color combination is classic.

*Spoiler Alert*                   just before the Climactic fight scene, Rhodes is running thru the Lab under Tony’s house.  He stops and stares at a Silver suit that is a different configuration than the one Tony is wearing:  it’s larger, the face plate is broader and there are special mounting brackets on the shoulders.  Rhodes stares at it and says, “Next time, baby. Next time.”   Referencing the suit Stark makes and gives to Rhodes that turns Rhodes into War Machine.  SWEEET!!!
