I remember, years ago, talking with people and saying how I can't wait for Marvel characters to get into movies.  It felt like we were waiting forever. A few nights ago I watched this documentary on superhero movies, revolving around the evolution of DC and Marvel comics. Plenty of interviews, including Stan Lee, comic artists, movie actors, etc. - it was awesome. They got into why it took Marvel so long to get on the ball with making movies the way DC did with Superman and Batman. There was internal turmoil at Marvel but one big reason was that the technology was not available to do Marvel type characters well.  The floodgates have opened for Marvel.  I am truly excited to see what comes out this next decade!

It is great so see so many Marvel characters being brought to the big screen. I think there have been misses as well as hits, (misses include Ghost Rider, Daredevil, Elektra and the first Hulk movie) but the hits outweigh the misses (the X-men films, Iron Man, The Spiderman films, The blade films and more).

I think this summer DC might triumph at the box office with the upcoming Batman film which I am absolutely urinating myself in anticipation for!

I wasn't into Ghost Rider, comics or the movie, but I enjoyed Daredevil, Elektra, and the first Hulk.

I used to buy The Ghost Rider comics when the character got re-released in the early 90's, I've got about 100 issues in the loft.  Having Nicholas Cage as Johnny Blaze was a big mistake, in the comic Johnny Blaze is a kid with no real understanding of what ghost rider is or how he becomes ghost rider, the stories all had a horror/occult theme which the film didn't satifactorily explore.

The Daredevil film was never going to appeal to me because I was never a fan of the Daredevil character.

Ang Lees' version of the Hulk didn't do anything for me, they changed his origin and the CGI version of the Hulk sucked, the new Ed Norton Hulk is much better and closer to the source material.

I hate when movies fall so short of key elements like that.

Me too, never had a desire to read a Daredevil comic, but I do appreciate his blind/heightened senses action.  It was never quite enough to impress me, though.

It fell short of a superhero/comic feel.  I did appreciate the gritty realism it had, and some of the comic style things it did, but it took too long to get to the Hulk.  I still enjoyed it, giving it leeway since it was an origin movie.

Unfortunately, I don't even know.  I was surfing cable and caught it.  The good thing is it is out there and can be had.  Might take some searching is all.  I will keep an eye out!

the new Batman movie is incredibly exciting.  I too have wet myself, Ninja.   Up until IRONMAN, i thought the best comic adaptation was the first X-Men followed by the first Spider-man.

I enjoyed Daredevil, i think they did a GREAT job with his costume, but mainly showing his scars in the shower and the tooth he pulled out of his head.  you rarely ever see the Hero when he gets home.  they always heal fast or whatever.

Ghost Rider.... ugh.

Electra... wtf?  it was like they were pretending that Dardevil was never made.

X3 and Spider-man3... they killed everyone off!  the way they should have ended X3 was with WOlverine distracting Phoenix and Rogue sneaking up behind her and hangs on.  then they explain that Rogue's body absorbed so much of the Phoenix that Jean is going to be OK, and the Phoenix has "changed" in Rogue giving her super strength and levatation (which she later masters and can fly) anything than just killing everyone off for Christ's sake.

the BEST thing to happen to the X-men frachise was the utter failure of Van Helsing.  that kept Jackman grounded and "affordable"

Ghost Rider sort of annoyed me. I never read the comic and the movie didn't do much to get me interested, either.  I'm a Nicolas Cage fan, too.
