I am listening to a program on the History Channel that, yet again, goes into the conspiracy theories behind the assassination of President Kennedy.  There is actually nothing new in this program.  Oswald acted alone, Ruby was recruted to shut up Oswald.  Oh, and Oswald was recruted by Castro, because of the Cuban Missle thing.

They did show an interesting graphic, which I had not seen before.  They showed the projection of the second bullet (they theorize the first missed} and how it started at the Book Depository, passed through Kennedy's neck, and into Connolly.  They back track it to show how it could only have come from the book depository.  They had did a frame by frame thing from the Zaprueder film.  They show Connolly reacting to the first shot.  Then they show a few frames later, both JFK and Connolly reacting at the same moment to the second.  They said it could only mean they were hit by the same bullet.

Any others here who have explored this?

Interesting thing, where once I had heard that Oswald was simply a fair marksman, in this show they are saying he ranked high...almost excellent.

I'm watching this show now as well - I'll tell you - the History Channel has a "history" (pun intended, maybe... its nearly 3 a.m.) of trying to debunk any potential conspiracy theory.

I think the whole thing is very shady. Kennedy got elected, in part, by the influence of the mafia - who got more dead people to vote in Chicago than living people (JOKE) but they did 'turn out' the vote.

JFK then lets Bobby run roughshod on Giancana and the Mob... JFK also then refused to help out the CIA by failing to provide air support for the invasion (which had previously been planned.)

Also LBJ openly hated RFK and JFK. He thought he deserved to be the prez instead. Before his role as VP LBJ was a senator in Texas.

So, you've got people with means, motive and opportunity to knock out JFK. I've read up a lot on the topic and seen just about every show...

I think that the JFK assassination was a coup de etat coordinated by a number of dissafected elements within the government. The investigation was flawed and the "magic bullet" theory is weak at best.

1+1 does not equal 3. Something was rotten in denmark.

I think people like a good conspiracy regardless of where the facts point.  Oswald was a nut who was in the right place at the right time, it goes no deeper than that.

If it was the Mafia, Kennedy would not have been "wacked" at high noon in front of 1000s of witnesses, that is just not their MO.

I can certainly understand how someone could think the conspiracy stuff is nonsense.  Running it through my head, I can't think of any person or group (other than Oswald) who would've wanted the deed done the way it was done.

Having said that, there are still somethings that don't fit, IMO.  I've never seen a good recreation of the way the head shot wound occurred.  Shooting a melon from a couple feet away is not the same thing as shooting a moving head at several hundred feet away, at a downward angle.

Of course, just because I haven't seen a good demonstration doesn't mean that one doesn't exist.  I'd just be very interested to see a scenario where a shot from the back makes the head go backward and the brains fly out of the back of Kennedy's head.  (I haven't had any luck locating that NOVA footage mentioned in the other thread.)

I think it is highly likely that Lee harvey Oswald was there, and did fire shots at the cavalcade that day. How accurate he was I'm not sure, what I think is beyond doubt is that there was more than one person firing at the cavalcade that day, having more than one would be assassin firing at the same target at the same time automatically makes it a conspiracy.

Also, something I have noticed recently while watching the Abraham Zapruder footage, if you get a chance to find it somewhere on line now, don't look at Kennedy or any of the other passengers, concentrate on the driver. I swear I can see something like muzzle flash coming from the driver towards Kennedy at some point ? What the hell was the driver doing driving so slowly anyway ?, and why did he slow down when the first shot was fired ?

I have never seen a picture of Kennedy actually in the coffin. My best guess is that area 51 was created to give him and Marilyn some much needed rest. Oswald is also alive and doing well in Cuba giving Fidel much needed advice and feeding him baby food, changing his golden pineapple diapers when the need arises.

Also, LBJ had a lot to gain from going to war, kind of like the current president.
