i've been thinking of starting a thread to discuss all things Titanic-related, the thread today about watches made from her steel finally motivated me to do it! RMS Titanic has held fascination for many people over the years, and this is the anniversary of her tragic sinking. photos, articles, all would be of interest!

A tragedy that did not have to take place. It all had to do with pride.

My husband said he was surprised there was not more Titanic related stuff in the History or Discovery channels because of the anniversary.  But I wonder if, in 5 years when it is the centennial there may be more .

Fortunately, it wouldn't have been really that long ---

A child would not have lasted more than about 10 minutes in subfreezing water like that-

the sadder thing is the ones on third class who never made it away from the ship as she went down, and were injured AND freezing..

you mean the romantic drivel god-save-me-from leonardo-decaprio-movie?::bigvomit:: ...the special effects were very well done..... the old movie 'a night to remember' based on walter lord's book was excellent.
