Well this is what lelen takes for her thyroid the meds are 75MCG Tab Mylan

This is the lowest dose she can have, too high of a dose the side effects are doubled which can affect her heath

This is a substituted for Synthroid 75 MCG Tab but does the same job in controlling her thyroid

Lelen had become used to the Synthroid which ment the doctor had to put her on this

And without the med her thyroid will become serious which has happened a few times

it's a worry for me when her meds run out cause i know just one day without it can cause problems that can seriously affect her health

Lelen has had this thyroid since she was a child and her family was trying to control it but not having much luck, when we lived in the Philippines i had to have her take a isotope med to control her thyroid till we could come here and find a safer med to control the problem

she is always worried about her thyroid acting up at the worst time and i try to assure her that the meds will control it, but i understand her worry

From what i know none of her family has this thyroid problem only her, but so far we have avoid any major problems this year, but as i know things happen in a flash and one must be ready for problems

Maybe one day they will find a cure for this, but i doubt anytime soon

I think my husband is on the same thing.  He takes Leventhroid.  It seems to work OK for him.

I'm on 125 mcg of Levothyroid.  They've found that  hypothyroidism and Type 2 diabetes frequently coexist.  I didn't develop either until I was 47.  I have to have my levothyroid pill every morning or I feel extremely tired.  I have my theories about why I developed the diabetes, but won't go into that here.

I'm also the only one in my family to have either condition.  My uncle (father's brother) is 90 and we believe he has Type 2 diabetes, but refuses to get tested.  Noone back through my grandparents had diabetes to my knowledge, but not sure about before that because they lived in Europe and they probably didn't test for it back then.

Levothyroxin not Levcthyroxin can't read this bottle label very well:bang9:

Anyway it does seem to handle her thyroid problem well and for us that is good news
but i know the med has some nasty side effects

i found this site that explains more about the med

Thanks for the link, PC.  That is the same med I am taking, and luckily the only side effects I've had from it are occasionaly insomnia and sensitivity to heat. I hope Lelen doesn't get any of those nasty side effects!
