Often you hear people saying the words "I'm on a diet to lose some weight", many people are under the misconception that going on a diet will help them drop a few lbs then they can go back to the way they were eating before and maintain the smaller figure.  I'm here to tell you this is a false statement.

The reason we put on weight is because we eat more calories than we expend on a daily basis.  If our regular diet caused us to get fat, going back to the same foods after you drop a few lbs will only result in returning to your previous larger state.  The fact is, we need to alter our eating habits to a healthier way of eating to achieve the body that we want, then maintain this healthy eating habits to maintain the body that we want.

Weight loss is about 75% Nutritional intake and about 25% what you do in the gym.  Eating correctly can cause weight loss without altering your physical activity at all. Though to achieve maximum results a well rounded physical training plan should be incorporated in any weight loss program (To include weight training and cardio training).

There is no magic pill, to achieve weight loss, time and energy must be dedicated much the same way you invest money over time and constant investments will reward you many years down the road.

What about thermogenics you ask?  Good question, these were developed to assist with the stubborn last few lbs of fat in your body.    Many people start with these pills and their body reacts differently because they are not ready to take these supplements.  There are supplements that you can take to get you on track even right from the beginning, but thermogenics are NOT what you start with.

More later,
Ray

My problem has always been, once I get to the size I want to be, I feel like now and then I can eat that cake and nothing will happen.  WRONG!  I've actually got a couple pairs of jeans for when I'm a size 12, which for me is over weight.  Then, I've got a few pairs of size 10, for when I'm the weight I want to be!  It's harder to pass the cake up after I've lost weight.  I know exactly what to eat to maintain my weight, but a birthday party, graduation, whatever, and the cake comes out......I'm a goner!!

At this stage of my life, it's easy to gain in one day!  It can take me a week to lose what I gained in that one day too...........

Believe me, I feel your pain. The best advice I can offer in this situation is moderation, controled, planned events.

With every event, add an additional cardio session to counter the event.
