What is the deal with the British and their tea.  Is it charming, annoying, what?

Also, general tea-related fantasies and fetishes can go here.

Frank, it can be charming (and sometimes lacking in taste), in bone china tea cups...or it can be bold, brassy and strong, in huge mugs...

Ah, Girlfriend, I knew you cared !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

::rose::::rose::::rose::

I do try to be properly English, you know. I mean for an Aussie.  When I got trotted out the first time after marrying a Pom - to be inspected by the Brit rellies, I took off my shoes during the tea ceremony and sat cross legged on the floor trying to come to terms with the strangely nasty  brew.  Apparently, they all gave up on me after this, and just sent sympathetic glances towards my consort in such a morganatic marriage. Ah well...

(Notice I'm putting in my dotty ... just for you. Nostalgia!)

Ah how quaint !

Some members have no cultural understanding of the importance of Tea and its place in British culture !

I can't explain it to you satisfactorily anymore than an American can explain the appeal of Baseball (we call it rounders and its played by girls.......we also invented it...regardless of the old American MYTH) or basketball (how anyone can call football (soccer) boring then sit through a Basketball game is beyond me).

Anyone for a nice brew ?
