This month the NHS is 59 years old.

It's been the subject of brickbats and bouquets over recent years.  I think we're very fortunate to have such an incredible health service.  Do you agree?

I think we would be lost without the NHS.  We moan about it plenty, but it DOES do a very good job.

I couldn't agree more, hats off to the NHS and all the doctors, nurses, porters etc etc and all the other selfless people who keep it going despite its problems.

A Free national health service is something every modern civilised society should have.

I envy you people that service!  It's called SOCIALISM, and as far as I'm concerned the United States needs to start "SOME" socialism with OUR tax dollars!  Some of our people already get free medical!  The problem is, those of us who can afford to have medical insurance, pay a ton, and then get billed on TOP of what we pay each month!  With Wayne's cancer, he's paying almost $300.00 a month medical insurance, and his insurance covers about 1/4th of all his bills.  So alone with his $300. a month, he's now got over $100,000.00  in medical bills on top!  Our "druggies" get all their medical FREE THOUGH!  Just more of our wonderful systems intelligent spending of our tax dollars!

Yes I am agreeing, do you really think I would take the piss out of someone having to pay insurance premiums for cancer treatment while drug addicts get treatment free ?

I am sarcastic, somewhat subversive but there are limits Fox !

Bloody hell you think I was being serious ?

We have something called "Irony" where I live, I don't think it travels across the Atlantic very well but please is that what you think of me ?

I will take the piss out of a cancer sufferer ?

I think the British healthcare system is something the U.S. should look into implementing. I believe everyone should have equal access to healthcare, but, unfortunately, the health insurance industry has our politicians by the balls. I swear, for the healthcare benefits alone, I'd gladly relocate to the U.K. ... or even Canada. I just wish they were south of here ... ::sgrin::

I have had only one experience with the NHS and it was overwhelmingly positive. I would be delighted to have such a service in the US.

This week I'm working temporarily on one of the reception desks at our local NHS hospital and I'm seeing first hand the dedication and caring of the staff.  It just reinforces how proud I feel of our health service and how fortunate I think we are.

How's it going? Are you enjoying it Theia?

My bro works in the local hospital here, as a minion, and he says that most Doctors think they're something really special and look down their noses at nurses and ward assistants like himself. But he has nothing but praise for all the nurses.

Yes, I am, MM.  But it's agency work so it's not permanent.

Wrong attitude, you never know where it could lead!

Have you given any thought to the fact that you are suddenly very busy though?
