Sacked worker jailed for 10 years for drugging and torturing her boss By Laurie Hanna 24/06/2008  Ambreen Gul, 23 A vengeful worker who drugged and tortured her boss in a bid to extract a £200,000 ransom was jailed for 10 years yesterday. Estate agent Ambreen Gul, 23, dreamed up her evil plot after being fired by Waqas Malik, 48. Recruiting another sacked colleague and two "muscle" thugs, she lured Mr Malik to her flat. As he screamed "What have I done?", his attackers stood on his wrist, bound him hand and foot and blindfolded him. He was then tied to a chair with a gun pressed to his head and over the next seven hours repeatedly kicked, punched and pistol-whipped. Prosecutor Matthew Farmer told Southwark crown court, South London: "One man stood on his head. The others laughed as they watched this torture." The gang warned Mr Malik that he and his 13-year-old son would be killed unless his wife raised £200,000. But the plot collapsed when he fell ill after being given a powerful sedative. Panicky Gul ordered her comatose captive to be put in an office chair, wheeled to a car and driven to his home. There, Gul, of Hackney, East London, told his wife he was drunk and had sexually assaulted her, then drove off. Mr Malik spent four days in hospital. Yesterday, judge Deborah Taylor told Gul, who has shown no remorse: "These were serious and ugly crimes driven by greed and revenge." Sacked Mukshud Ali, 18, was sentenced to seven years and nine months in a young offenders' institution. Quasim Ahmed, 21, was jailed for eight years. Former West Ham under-17s footballer Shakib Chowdhury, 20, was sent to a young offenders' institution for eight-and-a-half years. All were convicted of imprisonment, wounding, blackmail and administering a "noxious substance" with intent. "You were driven to this serious and ugly crime by greed and revenge"
