This website has a form where you can send a geneological question to a librarian in the Ottowa Public Library.  I sent an email and received some very useful links in looking up some ancestors who went to Toronto in the early 1900's.  The URL is:

I have a family geneology book that goes back to the 1600's it took 10 years to compile and only 10 issues got published. If anyone has a surname that goes back to Canada I could look it up. The book is written in French but I could have it transcribed if it relates to anyone from Canada...............Great site Sue! I am looking at it and registering.
