Heh, first gay divorce. I shouldn't chuckle but for some reason that was funny.

I'm not against gay marriage. I do think that you'll be seeing a lot of gay divorces for a while, though, if gay marriage becomes more commonplace. There are two reasons:
1) More marriage means more divorce, just naturally.
2) On top of that, initially you're going to see some gay couples getting married "just because we can, and you can't stop us" -- i.e., as a political statement. As the novelty wears off, those kinds of marriages will become less common.

Why do we even bother having a legislative branch if the courts are going to make new ones through "interpretation"?
Perhaps we can outlaw smoking, ban internal cumbustion engines, and all kinds of other things under the equal protections clause.
