From Time Magazine, Jeff Sachs, 06-09-08:

"United States spending for ALL energy research-- nuclear, wind, coal, solar, and biofuels---- was a meager $3.2 billion in 2006.  The Pentagon spends that much in about 40 hours."

When the Republicans took (or stole) the White House in 2000, gasoline in California was $1.33.  Currently it's $4.69 for regular and $5.39 for diesel.  If we can remove these lying bastards (especially Congressional Republicans) from office, we might all live to see the day we can flip off the Saudi Oil Minister trillionaires and suggest they sleep with their camels and keep their flipping oil for drinking water.

Actually aknow, I see no reason to vote in a Republican or Democrat. Has either party done any good for America?

JBF:  Actually no, Obama is the lesser of the two poor choices.  If our Democracy would criminalize and prosecute lobbying maybe our nation could move forward.  I'd prefer a government that tries to bring unlike minds together rather than isolating and offending them, even if we don't understand them.

OUR Government and media as we now know them are broken, JBF.

I agree with all of the above, basically, and that's why I am voting third Party and have been sorta encouraging or educating others around me, in person, to consider the same. Voting for the two main Parties just enables and condones corruption too much for my tastes, I am finding. At least, that is how I have been feeling for a long while now.

And I maintain that Republican, Democrat or third party will make no difference whatsoever.  The problem is they are politicians.  There seems to be something genetically wrong with politicians that causes them to foul up everything from tying their shoes to a wet dream.  It is ingrained in them to wreck and destroy anything they touch.

If we continue to think in the box.......we'll never get out of the box!!  ALL Americans need to get rid of the broken two party system, and lets get a system in here that actually cares about our country and it's citizens!!  I'm tired of hearing, "Yeah, but I'll be throwing my vote away..."   That my friends, is exactly what the system wants you to think!   It's time to throw the damn system away!!

Unfortunately, every single time in history that a nation has "gotted rid of" a two party or multi party system, it's been in exchange for something much much worse. Think Caligula, think Nero, think Saddam.

We have to FIX the system we have, not do away with it, Fox.
If we do away with it, history teaches that what we get instead is called a dictatorship or a military junta like Myanmar.

Changing the PEOPLE, not the system, is what has to be done-- NOT doing away with one of the only systems in the world where we get to VOTE for what we want, not have it dictated to us by the military in charge or a mad dictator like Saddam or Hitler.

What I think is needed is for the people to demand accountability, even if it costs us lots of money--- demand that EVERY communication, conversation, email, etc -- be PUBLISHED on the Internet-- with full disclosure of all names, from the names of corporations and the names of the officers of that corporation, to the names of the people paying to have a lobbyist show up and push their position.

I think a big part of the problem isn't the politicians -- it is the SIGs and others who can push for things that they want to see in law, without having to reveal to their friends and neighbors who they are--- Your next door neigbbor might be in bed with a developer who wants to ruin your neighborhood, and they've both hired a lobbyist--- all that information is SECRET, and you don't get to know what your neighbor is asking your Congressperson to do to YOUR land (for example)

That's where the real problem is --- If every SIG, corporation, lobbyist had to UTTERLY disclose everything they wrote/emailed/phone-called/lobbied their Congressman for, there'd be a LOT less of it---

because companies would KNOW that their customers would abandon them in a heartbeat for the crap they pull behind closed doors in Washington.

The one thing that is the primary goal of all politicians is self interest.

Ensuring that they get their noses as deep as they can in the trough while they have a position of power is their aim.

Anything else is just hot air or empty platitudes.

I think he was referring to him and I being in agreement, since he quoted me.
