When you have a bias and you're looking for a certain sort of evidence, you're likely to find it. A CNN buisness article or a press release from Wachovia would do fine-- I hate Wachovia anyway, btw-- they're an NC bank which has grown beyond caring about individual customers, no matter what their marketing people say about them. but claims that they are supporting La Raza need unbiased support from people who wouldn't care one way or the other -- like CNN or someone like that who isn't "looking for bad things", merely reporting what happened in the finance world... Don't know anything much about Raza, but I'm inclined NOT to take the word of one person who I don't know and don't know what THEIR agenda is. I'm not saying I'm prepared to defend La Raza one way or the other. But I've worked in school districts for years --- and I know most of them to be well populated with people with agendas, narrrow POV, etc. Many teachers work very hard, defend their students, etc --- but that does NOT mean that they don't have some agenda or other, some ideological view that isn't widely held, etc. Just not going to go down that road hand in hand with that one teacher. You want to believe something, therefore you look to the people and sources that will confirm what YOU may want to hear. Though I do keep my finger on the pulse of friends, neighbors, family, opinions on as many other forums as I can find, etc. I do read the media, but no I don't take what they say as gospel. I try to avoid the websites of people who are obviously riding some sort of horse they intend to beat into pulp at some point. Anyone who rants and rants too loudly also strikes me as just as off-center and lack-of-moderate as any media or political person.
