Yesterday, 200,000 German citizens, stopped what they were doing to listen to a speech by an American presidential candidate no less.   This is totally astounding, that this man engenders hope and positivity, finally, by someone from America.

Today I hear all of the right wing McCain supporters finding something in this that is negative, underhanded, or nefarious.  It is so evidently time for a change in America.  I hope Obama wins by a mega landslide.

I think it is a little premature to be calling him President Obama, don't you. After all, the election hasn't taken place yet. But, on the chance that he does get elected, I guess we will have to wait four years to see how much better off we are, won't we. With the likes of Nancy Pelosi and that bunch in congress, I don't see anything but a grim future for the country, especially with people like Reid.

What makes you think he's going to bring so much change, for the good no less?  Isn't that what the Democrat's said in the last election?  Have you seen any change?  Have you heard him talk of the invasion to OUR country Dr. Steve?  He's giving the world a pep talk, like our government usually does.  What about our country.  Don't think for one minute he's any better than the other one.  Talk of CHANGE is what gets the two parties elected.........every time!

Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.

Higher taxes, a more bloated Federal government, chaos in the Middle East if Obama follows through on removing all U.S. troops from Iraq in 16 months, $10/gallon gas, an accelerated errosion of the U.S. economy, etc.

I hope Obama wins by a mega landslide.

And I hope he DOES NOT!!!

Doesn't anybody wonder why he won't take McCain up on his offer to do the town hall debates? My guess is that he KNOWS he will be screwed if he does.

And I agree with Mud. He is not the president, so why are you calling him the president? Lets hope you don't have to eat crow on the first Wednesday of November. Actually, I hope you do.

But, in all fairness, the other choice sucks too!! It will again be an election of voting for the lesser of two evils.

FGP:  Most of the change you refer to is perception.  Having a leader of America who can actually speak English, and be listened to, respected and admired will bring a world of change, even with assholes like the megawealthy nancy pelosi as the phoney figurehead in the House.  Having a leader that the rest of the world can respect as opposed to the one we have now who thought it was appropriate to alienate and build walls instead of bridges will bring a tremendous amount of change and cooperation.

And talk of no change, McCain is just a 3rd term of George W.  He's been in the Senate for 2 or 3 decades and done NOTHING!  If you don't think Obama brings change, when was the last time 200,000 people cheered for our current president?  The biggest crowds he's ever attracted were crowds of protesters and detractors.  This is a major change in so many ways for Senator Obama.

PMH:  You must know by now how little respect and regard I have for any elected politician, especially after my stories of my meetings with Senators Feinstein and Boxer in the mid 1990's.  There will always be chaos in the middle east, no matter who our leader is.

We have a much better chance for progress in America if we employ knowledge and hope and logic, than we ever would with negativity and controlling our populace by employing fear tactics, as the Nazi's did in the late 1930's.  How many times have you accomplished something by calling your enemies evil?  How about offering them something they need and making a compromise?  It's called Diplomacy.  It's time to stop the back room deals with pharmaceutical companies who are poisoning our children and our elderly, cause this administration wants them to.

You spend far too much time listening to the lying rhetoric of Adolph Hannity, or his cohorts who are sleeping with the enemy like Big Pharma, Big Oil, and Giant military industrial complex.  You'll be the last person to acknowledge any progress when a real leader with some brains, integrity, and guts gets elected.

And what about these bridges you talk about. This country is being over run with illegals now. It's time we built some walls, or do you make good money off of the illegals. Seems to me, that you have your arms open to them.

The bridges I refer to are the bridges of perception to cooperate with other cultures and utilize them and improve them, not anger and alienate them.  And for your edification, I am vehemently opposed to illegal immigration, something your AH candidate, disabled McCain, a Senator from a state which borders Mexico, has done NOTHING about after all of his wasted years in the government.  Are you really that dense?

I know Americans are so sick of the government and this administration, that I'm afraid they will except any change dr. Steve.  I understand how you feel, to a point.  You're talking of a change in the world!!  I don't give a rats as* right now about the world.  I care about my country.  The one that's being SOLD to the world.  What would you think about a president who cared about the USA and her people, and put those two first, and to hell with the rest of the world for now?  Would you not want that?  We have given to the world forever, and they don't give a sh*t!!  It's not our job to constantly say we care about the world!  We are losing OUR COUNTRY, do you realize that?  What good is the world going to do us, when the USA is no longer our country.........?

The "President" has become a very big word. It's a good time to let State Government and local elections dictate their interest's. Representatives and Senators decide their own fate in their own State. Please show me where Mclame has failed his own State. And his voting record please. Then show Obama's  on his voting record that was arduous or meaningful in any way.............I hear cricket's. I will have to go with experience not experiments.

First of all, let me assure you I am not dense. This is the second time in a post you have made a derogatory remark about me. The first was your assumption that I, being from the south, am a racist.

Why, should it be up to our country, or president, to improve the well being of other countries, when ours is going to hell in a hand basket? These other countries have the same opportunity as we, to improve their lot. It is up to their government to do this, not ours.

As for edification, I don't think you are really concerned about lifting or building me up, when in the same paragraph, you call me dense. I am, however , glad to hear that you are opposed to illegal immigration. At least that does mean we have one thing in common. As for McCain being my candidate, nothing could be further from the truth. I dislike him, as much, if not more, than the other candidate, and I put him right up there with Mr. Bush, who has done more to hurt our country as far as the immigration issue as anyone.

As for Obama, I don't see him accomplishing anything about the immigration issue, either, scince the Democratic party has bent over backwards to win the Hispanic vote.

As for the 200,000 German citizens, I will  not vote for a candidate based on how the rest of the world feels. I could care less how they feel, or how they regard us. All the times America has rushed to the aid of these countries when they needed help, and they turn their backs to us, and talk about how bad we Americans are, screw them.

I think the reaction Obama got in Germany was due to the fact that Europeans haven't got used to the concept of a president who isn't :-

A - A chimp - Bush

B - A randy goat - Clinton

C - Senile - Bush Snr

D - Senile - Reagan

E - really crap - Carter.
